So it appears the crowds are very high right now even though some sites predicted low crowds. Is there a reason why the uptick?

There are still plenty of places to wash your hands, as well as hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere, but in a very crowded park where large numbers of people are crammed inside enclosed spaces together, airborne illnesses are going to spread.

So it appears the crowds are very high right now even though some sites predicted low crowds. Is there a reason why the uptick?

WDW is a very popular place to visit for people all over the world. The crowds ebb and flow due to many factors, some you can easily predict and some you can't so easily. I think when crowds are either up or down, people try to use that temporary state as validation of whatever theory they are...

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

My first family trip was 2009 and I first came to these boards in 2008 and 2009 to plan that trip. Honestly, your post could be nearly a word for word match with the posts from that era (and just about every year since then): Too expensive, complaints about other guests being rude, complaints...

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

I've been to Rome, Paris, London, Venice, Dubai and pretty much every major city in Western Europe and near the Med. I have also done 10-12 days at WDW and honestly would rather spend my time there than pretty much anywhere else...

    Rope Drop convert

Based on our last couple of trips (post COVID) I have seen less and less benefit of RD at MK specifically. The other 3 parks have been great for RD but MK not so much.

    Rope Drop convert

I have always been a huge fan of Rope Drop but the wife is not so we generally alternate. In the summer months I think RD in the morning, return to resort from about Noon to 5 for nap/swim, and then back to the parks until closing time is the best strategy, IMO.

Wow! A real money grab in my opinion

We really enjoyed the flatbreads this visit as well as the fruit and Nutella waffles. There was an insane amount of fruit including about 15 of the largest, sweetest strawberries I have ever had. We are a huge fan of Dole Whip varieties available now. I had the pineapple upside down cake with...

Wow! A real money grab in my opinion

This is exactly correct. For those that thought Chapek was the cause of all of this stuff and that Iger would come in and save the day.... go watch Iger's interview from yesterday on CNBC. He talks about the parks as an opportunity for revenue GROWTH. For pubicly held companies, stockholders...

    Shades of Green or Pop?

Not sure if you made your decision yet but I thought I would chime in. We have stayed at both resorts multiple times as well as other Disney resorts including Deluxe. I love both resorts but would give Shades the edge. Here is a couple of points I would make: 1. Shades gives you (some of) the...

    Shades of Green or Pop?

We were just there about the same time as you and we felt that the TTC was much more convenient for MK than the buses from Pop and other Disney resorts. The bus to the TTC drops you off relatively close to security and then it is a direct shot right into the express monorail which drops you off...

Wow! A real money grab in my opinion

We did a dessert party for Wishes maybe 2012-ish. It seemed to me that they were relatively new at the time and not very expensive. Maybe around $30-40 a person. The deserts were fantastic and they didn't let a ton of people into the party so the terrace felt open and spacious with plenty of...

    GotG motion sickness poll

The track is what helps me. They are a fixed point where my eyes/brain can determine my relative motion and match it to what I'm feeling.

    GotG motion sickness poll

I get motion sickness at times. I have gotten pretty sick after riding Star Tours in the past, the Simpsons ride at Universal made me so sick I wanted to die, and Remy actually made me sick. I did not have any of that on Guardians at all. I think it was because I could see the structure of the...

SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

Our late night at DHS, we got on a very full bus. That was not a fun experience but not much different than our late night bus rides on Disney transportation over the years.

Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

As someone whose job it is to interpret laws and regulations in my job every day, I have to say that Disney wrote that incredibly vague. I would actually interpret that as making a suggestion and not prohibiting it.

SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

Regarding the Poly - our first stay we really enjoyed the easy access over there as well. Partly for transportation but also partly because we just like the Poly. We had a nice dinner and a nice breakfast over there a couple of times. We rode the boat back to MK one night and caught the...

SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

Yes - we did EEH at both parks and made it out for the very last bus. There was maybe 5 other people on the bus so it was super quick and easy. When we left MK, we just missed the next to last bus which looked very full. We were a bit disappointed to miss that bus (barely) but we sat on the...

    Eating with Disney sceptics

Over time we have mostly stopped doing ADR's for sit down dinners, mostly because my wife just does not each much food at one time and we found the prices for Table Service places to be higher than we want to pay. Other than 1-2 ADR's per trip we now just do mostly Quick Service, food carts and...

    Eating with Disney sceptics

My wife is not a fan of "exotic" food but we love Sanaa. Our list trip I believe we did the bread service and desert. We had a table right at the glass. You can't beat it...

SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

I think you probably should have given the busses to the TTC another try. Parking at the TTC is a nightmare - I will never do that again. We stayed the week before you and found the busses to TTC incredibly fast and convenient. We park hopped almost every day and returned to Shades mid day for a...
