Beach Club Villas to Disney's Hollywood Studios Question

I would take the skyliner, 100%. It runs constantly so there's no waiting for a boat to arrive. It's relaxing and I think the switch at carribean beach is simple and fast. And it will be running in plenty of time to get there for the extra magic hours in the morning. However, if you want to be...

Should I stay or Should I go?

The great debate first posed by those great troubadours of The Clash. Thinking about adding a quick trip over the middle of July that crosses Typhoon Lagoon Moonlight Magic date (July 10-13). Direct flights on Allegiant Air (<$200 each) via SFB. Studio Rooms at Saratoga or Boulder Ridge. We...

    Size of Caribbean v. Saratoga

I've walked the whole circle around both (been there during RunDisney weekends when I wasn't visiting parks). When including the treehouses, Saratoga is definitely larger. In general, the buildings also seem a bit more spread out there than at CB. I think the studio rooms at SSR are also...

Current owners: Do you feel that renters are impacting resort availability?

Watching the traffic on these Facebook groups, the biggest offender is with the AKL-Jumbo value studios. There aren't many of these rooms, yet I always see posts renting these rooms.

Still Moving People at Boardwalk Villas

Following this same drama across Facebook groups as well since we have a 1 bedroom Standard View coming up in May. From Facebook, it's been mostly boardwalk view moved (both studios and 1bdrm) followed by standard view. I have seen a couple of posts of garden view also moved, but not as many...

    DVC Member Cruise 2025

Unless I'm doing something wrong, it's $1625 more for me to book the member cruise for the same stateroom (8B) and number of guests (4) than the same itinerary on either of the July dates. I was expecting something like $500-$800 more. I don't think I can convince myself it's worth it...

Going on a 3 park trip AKL 1BR SAV view or 1BR BWV pool/garden view

I love AKL and will pick a value 1 bedroom whenever available (I love 1 bedrooms, but not the point use). But since two of your three parks are Epcot/HS, I would absolutely go with Boardwalk. Plus you get the recent remodel with Murphy bed vs pull out sofa.

    Let’s talk pool slides!

My vote is to just use the Kidani one. The pool itself is definitely smaller but it has much better slides and water play/splash area. Both have a nice selection of loungers and shade. We use the jumbo pool when we stay at jumbo primarily out of convenience.

    DVC Member Cruise 2025

For those that have done member cruises before, is the cash price for a member cruise similar to the DCL price for the same itinerary? (e.g., comparing it to the July 19 - 24, 2025 Dream cruise with the same Cozumel/Castaway itinerary)

They are here! (Summer 2025 I mean)

This is helpful; many other comments have said that it's different for Alaska so I appreciate the counter-example.

They are here! (Summer 2025 I mean)

I've never been on either, which was my primary dilemma. Both go to glacier bay and bring National Park Rangers on board and even have special kids presentations with the rangers. In general, I've heard HAL caters to an older crowd and Princess is more multi-generational, but Alaska during the...

    Let’s talk pool slides!

LOL. River Country. I have very strong memories of both the rope swing and the slides dumping me out in the air and landing chaotically on my side or upper back. It was a blast at 10 years old. It would possibly kill me now. As far as slides go, my boys (7 and 10) loved the Kidani slide, but...

They are here! (Summer 2025 I mean)

Dates were in the member email I received this morning. So that much seems certain (booking April 13). The Dream and it's associated itinerary are all speculation on my part. Figured it out by looking at the 2025 summer itineraries. Dream was the only one with a gap during those days and the...

They are here! (Summer 2025 I mean)

Just figured it out. DVC member cruise will be the Dream out of Ft. Lauderdale. Guessing either Cozumel/Castaway or the Castaway/Nassau/Lighthouse 5 day itinerary.

They are here! (Summer 2025 I mean)

Another option for 2025 for our family could be the 5 night DVC Member Cruise; scheduled Aug 2-7. I've never done a member cruise and this one actually fits our summer vacation schedule. Anyone already figure out what ship has a gap in the calendar over those dates?

They are here! (Summer 2025 I mean)

Same. I already created a spreadsheet for 2025 Alaska cruises and was waiting for DCL to post prices before we chose anything. I can get a mini suite on Princess or a vista suite on HAL and include their entire premium packages (wifi/drinks/gratuities) for $4K less than I can book a verandah on...

    BWV-Choice Between

Im curious how these look with the remodel. It appears they couldn’t put the Murphy bed in here if they wanted to as the couch space is under a window…

    Feb 2024 Average Resale Prices

I'm probably a bit of an outlier, but I own at both CCV (resale) and VGF (direct) and prefer RIV to either (I adore the skyliner). I don't own at RIV b/c I don't like the resale restrictions and VGF was quite a bit cheaper when shopping direct.

Hard time at a DVC resort

I've honestly been debating this whole week. I'm down to two choices: 1. Beach Cottage at Vero Beach Resort 2. Grand Villa at AKL. I had also been seriously considering Saratoga Springs (I don't golf, but I would learn) and Aulani. Since food is included, I'm slightly leaning towards...

    International Sale Issue?

I posted above and finally received a letter from the IRS in Jan that it was resolved (this goes back to a sale in Dec 2021). I also used Mason and the initial letter said the Form 8288-B was rejected because the transferor didn't follow procedures outlined in the Code of Fed. Reg. 1.1445...
