    Travel Door Alarm

Thank you so much for all the advice every one. @mamabunny- yes he is a wanderer so those additional tips will really help. @DisneyOma - unfortunately a single room won't work for us - he is a very bad sleeper and we need to keep him separate from his sister (also autistic) who cannot cope...

    Travel Door Alarm

We're going to be staying in a 2BR at Kidani with my 7 year old son who is autistic and a bit of an escape artist. Last year he figured out how to open the sliding doors to the balcony and tried to squeeze through to the next door unit! I was thinking about taking some portable door alarms...

Adding non-sleeping guests to DVC reservation question

We are DVC members and have booked a 2-bed at Kidani Village for our family of four. My parents, my brother and SIL have decided to join us for the two week stay. There is no way we are all squeezing into the villa so they are staying at one of the Flamingo Crossings partner hotels instead...

    Extending a stay - 7 months out

Hi everyone - we're heading over to WDW in November this year. Our home resort is AKV but we want to stay at OKW. I booked our first 7 days online yesterday - for November 3 through 10. I need to add on November 10 through 14 and understand I need to call to do it. Can I call today to add an...

When is the best time to go to Animal Kingdom?

I agree that first thing in the morning is a great time to ride. I've lost track of how many times we have ridden the safari but on our last trip we actually heard the lion roar and it was pretty amazing! This year we're going on the new backstage tour and I can't wait

    Travellers Cheques - Not Accepted

We were last over in December and didn't have any problems at all. It would be good if we could list here places where people have had cheques refused though. When we went to New York a couple of years back people looked at the travellers cheques like they were some kind of foreign money and...

    Help with where to propose.

How fabulous - I wish my hubby would've proposed at WDW but at least we got married there :) Do you have any favourite attractions or shows? It would be quite cool to pop the question just as you make the drop on EE or Splash - but you might drop the ring ;) For the ultimate in romance then...

What draws you back to wdw??

Why do we go back to WDW year after year? Because it feels like home Because we always have fun because there is always something new to see Because we have an excuse to laugh like kids and forget all our worries Because it reminds me of our wedding day (at the Poly) Because there is no where...

    Split Stay-check out/in day

We pretty much split stay all the time now that we have DVC. Last trip we moved from AKV to OKW - we did online check in and said we'd be there at 10am. We put our swimming stuff out so that we could head over to BB. We got up, had breakfast and then drove over to OKW and our room was already...

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

The merchandise looks good. I'm really looking forward to checking out the new area this November. It's the only reason we're buying USF/IOA tickets this year!

    Disney as a couples trip??

DH and I have been regular visitors for the last few years - always as a couple with no kids. We have a blast each time. We like to be able to get up and be out of the door in time to hit the parks early. Then when we've done what we want we can just take time to stroll around the World Showcase...

Toy Story Mania Fast Pass question

I didn't think they opened the machines until park opening. When we were out in early December they were really strict about walking in line with the rope drop etc. That attraction is crazy popular and by 9.10 the return time was already after 11am! It took three mornings of rope drop practice...

    DISville...Wouldn't it Be Cool?

I've stayed away from all things farmville, cakeville, bakeville etc as I just don's see the appeal. I game geared to Disney World though? I'd play ;)

What to do with extra money??

Personally I'd prefer to have money to spend on souvenirs than a more expensive meal. Could you do a poll of the parents to see what they think?

How do you all afford it?

We invested in DVC which brings the cost of our trips down overall. Because we have a kitchen area in our room we make sandwiches every day to take to the parks - which cuts the cost of food. We also eat breakfast in our room too. We try and take two trips within 12 months so that we can...

    What's awesome about The Polynesian!?

I've never stayed at the Poly - but the hotel will always have a soft spot in my heart as we got married there on the beach up at Sunset Pointe  We love to just visit and sit in a hammock and gaze across the waters to the Castle. One day I'll save up enough money to actually stay at the...

    Does EPCOT have another entrance?

The International Gateway entrance is useful if you're headed straight to World Showcase or if you're exiting after Illuminations. If you are arriving in the morning though I think it's best to use the main entrance as you're closer to the Future World attractions. It's a bit of a hike from the...

    What does villa mean?

A villa is used to describe the DVC rooms usually. They have one bed and two bed villas - so you get the bed rooms plus a lounge and a kitchen. A bedroom is just the room with the beds (and a bathroom of course!)
