What I think might be interesting to point out is % of direct points sold at active resorts.

The end dates of sales are not exact but just when I saw the points basically "disappear".

2018 - CCV 75% (Poly sold out February)
2017 - Poly 77% CCV 9% (Start April) (only have data from Jan to May)
2016 - Poly 65% Aulani 23%
2015 - Aulani 35% Poly 34% VGF 21% (June last month)
2014 - VGF 70% AKV 15% (Oct last month of sales)
2013 - AKV 47% VGF 34% (Start June) BLT 6% (May last month)
2012 - AKV 58% SSR 20% BLT 13%
2011 - BLT 40% SSR 32% AKV 24%

Might not be perfect but good estimate. Thats as far back as the data I found on another site.

[*]234 second+ contracts (#.001+) including 8 of the split contracts

One of those 8 is me. 200 split 100 each into a .000 and a .001.

Effective date appears to be when deposit is paid. We paid a deposit in early September and that's when we were given access to our points to make reservations, so it makes sense as the effective date. It's also helpful for DVD to stetch prorated dues payment. We eventually signed in October, closed in November, and recorded in November.

Are contracts paid with Disney loans recorded after DVD is paid by the loan (so, shortly after effective date) or after the loan is paid off (potentially one or more years after effective date)?

I thought the smallest contract existing owners could buy at CCV and RIV was 50 points. Did DVC lower it to 25 like the rest?

Not sure about stand alone add-on but you can split a contract down to 25 points and its been that way for months for sure. So lets say you buy 125 FW contract you can then add on 25 points to get to the 150 point discount.

I can confirm that - My FW was 130 points and they got approval to let me add on 25 points to reach the 150 pt incentive.

For FWs they seem to allow that. They would not let me split a 50 point into 2 25 points for RIV.

Lot of CCV GW being purchased. Pretty smart decision by them.

Welcome Home Onceuponamarathon, hope you enjoy the 50 years of RIV.

I wonder how many are on this board. I have 2 of them at RIV and I know as well there was another person who I talked with through private convos that purchased a GW at RIV as well. Plus there is Onceuponamarathon that said week 52 is theres.

The week 17 (week of April to May switch) is an interesting one for 2BR.

CCV Studio Weeks 44, 47, and 48 are mine! I am somewhat regretting not getting our RIV points as a guaranteed week (we were debating week 46 or 49), but ultimately decided to get two small contracts so that we could pass them to our two sons. But now that I see the changes in the 2022 charts, I am regretting not doing that. And we picked up the Week 44 CCV AFTER we picked up the RIV points; if we ad decided earlier to get 3 weeks at CCV, we would have done the GW at RIV, since then we could give 2 GWs to each kid. OH WELL. If GWs are still a thing when Reflections comes along, chances are we will pick up Week 46 or 49 then!

delay from effective date (presumably when someone tells their guide they want to purchase though potentially before the signing date if they don't sign same day) to recording date (recorded with Orange county Florida); I've included previous data for reference
View attachment 547376
  • 600 points was the largest contract (one CCV, two RVA); all initial contracts (#.000)
  • 25 points were the smallest contracts (AKV, BLT, BWV, OKW, PVB, SSR); second or greater contracts (#.001+) for the same person(s)
  • oldest effective date was 5 Dec 2019 recorded 1 Dec 2020 (+12 months)
  • most recent effective date was 18 Dec 2020 recorded 31 Dec 2020
  • most popular use year was Dec with 154 contracts (23% of all contracts)
  • least popular use year was Mar with 45 contracts (6.8% of all contracts)
I think that @sethschroeder deserves a commission for the substantial uptick in fixed week sales.

@i<3riviera do you have a date of sell out projection? Possibly based on current RIV sales but then also accounting for starting February likely CCV is sold out and RIV takes over 70% of the direct sales of points.

That would be a very interesting chart with Pandemic DVC sales numbers and the adjustments needed to forecast when everything goes back to normal or at least DVC starts filling their booths at Hotels and Parks with Sales agents. If Biden does a $2000 stimulus check that might influence some also :teacher::rotfl2:
