“Frozen Ever After Dessert Party” with Fireworks Viewing and After-Close Attraction Ride

My daughter (7 years old) and I attended the FEA Dessert Party this past Wednesday night (4/11/18) and had a great time. We showed up a few minutes before 8 and only had to wait behind one large party checking in ahead of us. We were soon taken to our table, where we were seated with a mother, daughter (5 years old), and grandma. The girls made friends quickly, and largely kept each other entertained. The dessert offerings were robust, and there was also a large table with cheese, fruit, crackers, etc. There was also a stand where a CM was making caramel popcorn with liquid nitrogen, which was cool, and my daughter loved the fact that you could breathe out smoke through your mouth and nostrils after eating it. Finally there was a table featuring scooped ice cream, a s'mores pudding creation (delicious, but very sweet), and a salted caramel cottage pudding. In addition to an array of juices, there was also a bar with several choices of beers and wines.

Our table was right up against the railing around the World Showcase Lagoon, so we had a perfect view of Illuminations. CMs also passed out glasses just before the show that made the fireworks look like snowflakes, which was a cool tie-in to the Frozen theme. A few minutes after the show, we were escorted as a group over to Norway, where we went through the FP line (it didn't matter since the park was closed at that point and there was no one left in standby) and onto the ride. We rode FEA one time with no wait, then were able to stick around and take some photos as the whole area was empty.

Overall, I thought the FEA Dessert Party was a very good experience. The desserts were tasty, there was unlimited beer and wine, the view of Illuminations was perfect (and it was great to be able to sit down the whole time), and we got a no-wait ride on FEA. I would recommend it to others if you feel like this would be up your alley. Happy to answer any questions anyone might have.
Awe! You sat with my best friend, her daughter and mother. They really enjoyed the entire experience too.

What a small world! They were fabulous people, and great table-mates. When they get back from their cruise, please apologize to them for me that I mostly blocked them out of the ride picture on FEA by being a big guy and sitting in the row of the boat directly in front of them :)

Ok that FEA sounds amazing! When will they release dates for Sept?

Also I what time do they start the party when the park closes at 9 which would mean fireworks are at 9 what time do you show up for the party

If you were seated at your table at FEA do you have a lot of people get up and walk in front of you? We had this happen to us at the old Wishes dessert party, where we got a prime table, then everyone stood in front of us minutes before the show started.

That won't happen at this party. First, most of the tables are already up against the railing around World Showcase Lagoon, so there is literally no room in front of you. Even if your table is set back from the railing, everyone has such a great view from their own table that there would be no reason for them to get up and stand in front of yours. The setup is very different from the MK party. This won't be an issue at FEA.

That's correct. Below is a typical setup.

The party starts at 8 pm, an hour before Illuminations. That being said, we showed up right before 8 and it felt like over half the party guests were already there. They probably start letting people in at least 10-15 minutes before the party starts, but we had only a very short wait to check-in and an hour was certainly sufficient to enjoy the desserts, and not over-enjoy the bar ;)

Yes they do. Unless there was delay with the setup, normally there's what Disney calls a "Surprise & Delight" early open of about 15 minutes before the advertised start time. No need to arrive any earlier than that as tables are preassigned. You'll have the same table whether you arrive an hour early, and some guests do, or 30 minutes late.

Will my party of 3 be seated with others?? Not crazy about that idea.... suppose we will cancel, in that case...

Likely yes. The tables all seemed to sit 5 to 8 people, and I did not see any smaller tables. Your party of 3 will probably be seated with a party of 2, or at least that is what happened at my table. In my case each party had a young girl, so it worked out nicely as they enjoyed chatting and playing together. The party area does not feel crowded at all, and I spent much of the time before the fireworks sampling from all of the different tables or making trips to the bar. Once Illuminations started everyone was looking out and up, and parties were able to ride in their own row(s) on FEA. So I don't know how much having others at your table will really bother you. If it's a dealbreaker for you, I guess you could try to ask for your own private table and cancel if you're told that is not an option. Personally I enjoyed the experience even more because we liked getting to know our table mates and our girls hit it off, but I understand that may not be for everyone.

Thank you for the response! We are very introverted people and avoid places like Biergarten etc. will be cancelling. I would coordinate a drop with someone but our night still has availability. Thanks again

There's definitely a chance you won't have others at your table. When the party is outside, I believe they seat 5 per table. When we went with a party of 6, we were fully expecting to either have all 6 of us crammed at one table or to have to share. We were given 2 tables to ourselves. It will all depend on how full the party is.

I know you are cancelling but I believe Fastpasser who works the parties said that if you can’t sit with other people to tell them on check in and they can accommodate you

Yes, I work all parties at Epcot, DHS and AK. The staff will certainly try their best to accommodate such situations. Having said that, it's not always possible and so, no guarantee. It depends on the size of the parties on any given night. I wish they wouldn't cancel, but if it's really an issue, canceling may be the way to go for them.
