2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

Figment, What is the best strategy for viewing fireworks in order to see the orb and Zero flying. I don't necessarily have to see the first parade as there are two of them but want to see both fireworks and parade.
I would try to watch the first parade (or be in the area) from up near the Hub. Then as soon as the parade passes, move to the fireworks viewing spot. That being said, I don't know if you move further back on Main Street whether the trees become less of an issue (i.e., does the angle improve). I just know that if you pick a spot where you can't see to the left of the second turret (see the photo further up this thread by Tom Bricker), you'll have trouble seeing the orb.

Thanks for your input. I'll stake out the area in advance to get a clue the night before if they have fireworks. I want this one time to be a really great spot.

We had an early ideal space one other night for the fireworks, almost in line with coke corner directly behind the rope the use to create a walkway between that space and the hub area.
It was nice because the gap made it easier to see over people's heads.

A previous trip we ended up way down Main Street almost near the big pumpkin and to the Tomorrowland side, we had a clear view of the orb and could see projections along the Main Street buildings as well.

Another time this trip we watched from the train station, great view except the flag pole in the middle, no crowds, east to exit from (not that you may want to during the party)

When I have time I will try to dig out photos from the various locations to give you an idea.

However I am feeling a bit crazy, it is Monday here (landed in auckland waiting for our connection home)
And DD6s Nightmare Before Christmas Party is on Saturday eeek who thought having a party so close was a good idea!!!

I need some advice. We’re coming in from Indiana next month and planned on attending MHP on the 24th. I ordered the tickets for our party of 10 and mistakenly threw them away last week thinking they were my old WDW Christmas party tickets. Guest services can’t reissue them, but said to bring the order receipt to the ticket booth when we get there and the MAY be able to reissue them. Since the party is sold out, what are my chances of them holding some tickets back for hotel guests to purchase if they can’t reissue them? We’ve been talking about this trip for almost a year and I want to prepare the kids if we won’t be able to go. Anyone have luck having tickets reissued? I can’t believe I did something so stupid!

OMG that's awful! You must feel sick about it, I have no basis for this belief but surely Disney can sort of reissuing once you are there with the order number, credit card used, ID etc?
Surely at that point they will be able to see that the other tickets haven't be used and they can cancel them?

Also GenGen22 if you don't want to spend lots of time waiting for a gun spot for the 1st parade, we came via the Adventure land side into the hub at 9.15, the parade comes through the "Matterhorn entranceway" so it's only that side roped off, we saw the last 2 floats then as the end of parade rope came through the entire crowd moved into place

Also just a thought, 10 tickets are worth a lot of $ (like $1000-$1200) could you a) report them as lost to the police (could help you show to Disney you didn't on sell) and if need be could you claim under your insurance? (Just think of what I would do if I had accidentally thrown out/lost something else worth that kind of money

I remember last year someone saying that their tickets got lost/thrown away and she was told that if she paid with a credit card then they would be able to help her at the park and to bring her receipt, the card she used to purchase the tickets, and her ID. It didnt help the girl last year since she had paid with cash.

This is the big issue with paper tickets and the reason that I always do Etickets. They can scan your phone easy peasey and there is no worries that I will lose them. I know people like to have the tickets as souvenirs but they will give you paper tickets when they scan your phone so you might as well do the Etickets. And the paper tickets look exactly the same as regular tickets-they arent Halloween themed or special.

I am so sorry that this happened to you, hopefully they will be able to help you out. I would call back and talk to another CM since phone CM's are notoriously poorly informed. I'd take down names too. You could also email them so you have it in writing that you notified Disney of this well in advance.

That makes me feel a little better. I definitely learned my lesson to wait and buy tickets online so I have an e-ticket. I ordered through the phone when tickets were released for Visa card holders and they only send the hard tickets. Hopefully they can help when I get there since I have the number of every ticket on the receipt. I did send an email a few days ago, but haven’t heard anything in response. I’d even buy new tickets if I had to if they hold some aside. Im dreading telling the kids.

Also in regard to the lost tickets I bought them while signed into my Disney account and they are already loaded into my app. Maybe yours will be there to?

Here's what happened with us:

My mom came out for a visit, and through DVC, we purchased two tickets. That week, the party had a day on monday, and another on wednesday, if I recall. Mom was VERY clear that she was leaving wednesday morning, so we had to have tickets for monday, so be sure not to mix up dates since there would be no way to come back or stay.

The day of the party, after some trials and tribulations, we finally make it to the park just before 4pm.

We wait in the ticket line to get our tickets, then wait in the entry line. After almost an hour of lines (it's now about 5pm), we get to the gate... and are denied entry.

"These tickets are for wednesday".

"Wait, what? We JUST picked them up from that window! Minutes ago!"

"Sorry, these are for wednesday, I can't scan you in."

Back to the ticketing line we go. And we complain. "Why didn't you warn us when we were here 40 minutes ago that they were not for today? We could have figured this out an hour ago!" We ordered from DVC and were very specific about the tickets having to be for monday. It took a LOT of time. They couldn't figure it out. Why were tickets printed for the wrong date? were they purchased wrong from DVC? (Me: "They do sometimes record those calls, so it could have been recorded somewhere!")

But finally, around 545pm, a managers come out, says she is going to get us in the park today herself, no tickets needed, and personally escorts us through the main gate (we still had to stand in the maingate entry line, but she stayed with us the whole time). we didn't have tickets to get any fast passes (which I guess they didn't have anyway, but I didn't know that), and we wouldn't be able to leave the park and come back since we didn't have proper entry tickets...

but we got in. Took 2 hours of standing in the same line multiple times, but we got in. With no tickets for the actual day (despite what we ordered on the phone via DVC).

I have NO idea what prompted her to let us in. I mean, we had been in 2 hours worth of lines and waiting at the one ticketing window.

So..... have enough of a paper trail, and a nice manager, and who knows?

It's pretty busy here today, but I gotta say that the NOS popcorn stand line is insane! It goes into the garden circle area behind the stand (where HMH's line is), uses one quarter of the circle, comes back out and then goes to the train station. Everyone is buying Oogie Boogie!

If you have the tickets IDs, couldn't you add them to the Disneyland app by entering those IDs and use those as your etickets? I just added my hard tickets today by scanning the bar codes, but there was also a choice to enter the ticket ids.
OMG! You’re a genius! Thank you, thank you, thank you!:worship: It worked and they’re all in my app now! I didn’t know you could do that. If you’re going to be in the park the week of Oct 22 I owe you a dole whip for saving me so much stress! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted! And thanks everyone else for your suggestions, I knew that my fellow disers would have the answers!

Good for you!
Interestingly I have both scanned my party tickets and tried entering the numbers but the app just gives me error messages. Luckily I have hard copies.

The Oogie Boogie popcorn buckets were also for sale in DCA by the headless horseman
