DH and I visited DCA 2 weeks ago and wanted to share that we enjoyed the new park a lot!

After a 2-day seminar that I attended while my DH toured L.A., we headed for Disney!!! We stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim, club room category which came with continental breakfast. $115 per nite + tax + $8 parking.

On Monday, we took the Sheraton trolley to DCA before official opening. We looked around Sunshine Plaza, then rode Soarin. Very enjoyable. Next, we rode Grizzly with a family of 4 including 2 cute girls and we had a blast as the spins are totally unexpected and wicked! We walked over to Paradise Pier, then rode Screamin (cool), Maliboomer (cool), Sun Wheel (1st half was fun), Jellyfish, Stinger and Carousel.

Next was the Golden Dreams show with Whoopi. Then off to the Vinery and ITTBAB. We grabbed freebies of bread and tortillas on the way to the Backlot. We signed up for a table at Soap Opera Bistro, then we toured Animation Studio. We got Superstar Limo out of the way before lunch. We sat at Kelly's diner and shared the yummy spinach salad, 2 different pizzas, and flourless chocolate cake with gold leaf. Total $37.00.

After lunch we went to Muppets and finished the 2 other attractions at Animation, where we turned out ot be Villains at the Beast's library--DH as Hopper and me as Ursula.

We were able to take lots of pictures with characters like, Donald Duck, Mushu, Kronk, Kusko, Flik, and the best one with me and Cruella as I posed with my head back and eyebrows high just like her. We toured Bountiful Farms where Rob climbed onto the big tractor and we looked over the various vegetable/flower gardens. After we caught Steps of Time at the Hyperion but I fell asleep during the last half of the show so DH just filled me in on the ending.

We went around the park again and repeated our favorite rides--Soarin, Screamin, Maliboomer. We also waited for Zephyr to re-open and finished off any rides we missed earlier, except for Mulholland Madness which was down that day. On the way out, we stopped at Burrbank Ice Cream and had FANTASIA ice cream which immediately became our favorite. We also stopped at the toy store next door where DH was tempted to buy the models of the DCA park. I think it came with the Golden State Bridge and monorail, Sun Wheel and Screamin.

After, we headed to Downtown Disney and ended up having dinner at ESPN Zone. We missed out on the leather reclines right in front of the giant TV but we got one of the booths that came with your own monitor so it was just as good. We had chicken tenders, pasta w/ portebello mushroom and Zone burger. Total $40. We walked off the food and went around the other eateries and looked up their menus for future dining.

Tuesday was Disneyland day. We skipped the continental breakfast at Sheraton to save room for beignets. We walked around an almost empty Downtown Disney towards Jazz kitchen but they weren't open yet so we walked back to the park. We did HM first and got stuck for about 5 minutes right at the part after the ballroom scene. We grabbed fritters and mint juleps just as they opened from the Julep stand at the French Market. Then we did Indy, Splash, Riverboat and then took the monorail to Downtown Disney and walked to the Grand Calif.

We had lunch at Storytellers Cafe where we had a great Cobb salad and pizza. Total $34.00. For dessert, we grabbed the beignets from Jazz kitchen that we were craving since breakfast. They were yummy too.

Back at the park, we rode Space (FastPass), Star Tours, HISTA, Matterhorn and Autopia (FP). Space Mtn was AWESOME as ever. Next, we got some more Fantasia ice cream at Gibson's in Main Street and were treated to an impromptu song by a Quartet.

And as all good things must come to an end, we left the park to catch an earlier flight (which turned out to be a nightmare) but knowing that we'll be back in May to use up the last day on our tickets.

As I said earlier, DH and I both enjoyed DCA very much. Although there weren't that many attractions, the ones they did have were very well done.

Thanks for reading.

Thank you for the great report. My DH was one of the lucky ones at ESPN. He now wants a leather recliner just like those ones.
