For those of you who have used AAA discounts on resorts... how much do you usually get off? is it different % depending on the resort (value, mod, deluxe?), season, etc? Just curious.

Value season: 20% off moderate and value resorts, , 15% off deluxe and wilderness cabins

Regular season: 15% of moderates, value, and Ft Wilderness, 10% off deluxe and wilderness cabins

Peak season: 15% off moderates and value, 10% off deluxe and wilderness cabins.

Swan and Dolphin: 35% off year around.

Note that rooms are on an as available basis, and include a set number of rooms per night, not all rooms in the resort.

Prices are discounted from the ROOM ONLY if you book a package.

Seasons are per Disney's definition of season

I booked a Pop room only ressie from 6/26 - 7/2 with my DW, and 2 DS's The reg. rate was $99 I used my AAA card and received a discount of $15 off, so I am now paying $84.00 a nite. I am also looking into changing it to a package deal. 8 nites, 7 day plus passes, no expiration. I was told I could not do this until after 12 noon today, cause they were updating the system,. I did ask a few questions though and it is going to make me switch. The 7 day plus pass comes w/5 extras, like Pleasure Island, Disney Quest, Water Parks and as long as I have the no expiration added if we do not use these 5 xtras, they do not expire like they use to on the old hopper tix. So you figure 4 parks, 2 water parks, still leaves me with 3 days for parks and 3 extras. So I have enuff left over for a 2nd trip this year. :cool1:

I booked a package through AAA. It included roundtrip airfare, 6 days, 5 nights at the Contemorary, 6 day park hopper passes and the dining plan. This is for a family of 3 adults and 1 child.I saved about $400 with AAA as opposed to booking through the Disney site. :cool1: Hope this helps :flower:

if the AAA card is under my fathers name, but he is not going with me, can he still book the room for me with his membership #? Or would he have to be staying in the room for them to allow the discount?

The woman I dealt with at AAA did not check my card. I would assume that the membership would have to be in the name of the person making the reservation. If your father is travelling with you, make the ressie in his name.

Why not call AAA and ask for a price quote? If you think its a good deal, just join AAA. It should only cost you $35.00 for the year.

I agree--I had already gotten a price through Disney.com for 2 for a 6-night MYW package with dining at a moderate resort. I called AAA and told her I was not a member yet, but that I would join if she could save me $$$ on the same package. She quoted me a price about $200 cheaper and set up my AAA membership on the spot over the phone. We'll also get a Diamond Card that entitles us to discounts on certain Disney merchandise and other stuff (ask your AAA agent) as well as preferred, up-close parking at the parks. In addition, we're staying off-property for 2 nights prior to checking in at the resort, and we got an AMAZING AAA rate on a Days Inn in Kissimmee. Good luck!

thanks alot everyone for your responses! I'm going to call AAA first and see if I can use my dads membership to book our rooms, but if not, I spoke to my mom about my ordeal so I'm sure she'd be fine with me becoming a member. She wants a card herself, since only my dad is a member. I'm 18, I'm assuming thats the age I'd have to be to become a member? not 21, right?

When I worked for AAA as long as you drove you could be a member. And in out state the AAA membership covered the member not the car, so if my Mom broke down in my car she would have to have her own membership unless I was there.

I haven't belonged since my dh joined the Marine Corps, but I think I might join just for the Disney savings.

We saved ~ $200 on our June trip 6N/7D at WL, as compared to booking straight from the Disney site.

Savings are on room only. No reductions on tickets, althought the MYW ticket prices are pretty good, especially when you get into 7+ day trips.

You are required to show your valid AAA card at check in. From what I've read on this site, they do ask for it and they do check.

I simply like the idea of a TA taking care of everything. This is a multi-stop trip. We are also doing 5 days at the HRH at Universal. Also the AAA TA made our limo ressies for the trip to the airport here in Philly, handles the paperwork, etc. Probably could have shaved a few dimes off the price, but I didn't want to have to do all the logitics and leg work. For me, one consolidated, precoordinated package, is worth a few extra bucks.

If you book thru AAA can you still do the Magical Express thing from the airport to the hotel?

We booked through AAA and got the complete pacckage including the Magical Express from and back to the airport. :cool1:

Do you have to have your AAA number when booking the AAA rate with CRO? We are getting AAA soon as our Warrenty on our car is up so could I make the reservation now but not get the card for a few weeks? If not I guess we will just go and get it early..

Not always true.....our last 2 trips (2002/2004) were booked thru AAA - and we were not asked to show our card at check-in either time. I did have to give my card to the AAA TA when I first went in each time to book the trip, however.

we bought AAA($44 a year) to use as a discount on our hotel room.
we are staying at POP from 5/19 - 5/25 and we are paying $79 a nite.

When I called my local AAA office yesterday for a quote on a package, she was trying to tell me that EMH and some of the other Disney resort guest perks were only for AAA members!! Are there other perks for having a AAA card? Restaurant discounts, or discounts on merchandise or ???. Thanks!!

EMH is for resort guests only, regardless of whether you made your reservation through AAA or not. There are discounts, special parking places, and a AAA lounge in Tomorrowland--you'll receive a AAA Diamond Card which provides you with these perks. I would say your AAA agent should have this info, but it looks like yours is misleading you!

Depending on your local AAA office, and the representatives contained therein, your agent may have little knowledge of Disney World.

I live on the west coast, and my agent was very up front about the fact that neither she nor the other representatives were familiar with all of the ins and outs of the Disney CRO.

She had been to Disney World within the last year, but stated that their CRO system was very complex. As I stated before, she even hung up on the first AAA CRO specialist we contacted because my agent did not feel the CRO agent knew what she was doing.

I can work with an agent that is honest about their knowledge level. If your agent is either accidently or otherwise misleading you, It's time to switch agents. Let the agency know what's going on, and the specific bad information you received from the first agent you had. If you talk to the agency manager about the bad information you have received, you will probably get much better service from the next agent.

That being said, the agents in our office can tell you nearly anything about Disneyland. In some ways this is even more difficult, because almost all of the hotels are off site, and packages must be put together from several sources and coordinated.

Remember that they will not change the way they do things if they don't understand people are unhappy with their service.
