I just realized that I did not note my food allergies on our ADR's can I still add them? And how would I do that--phone call or online or some other way? TIA:goodvibes

I would call and speak with a CM. Also if you post on the disabilities forum, they can help you much better.

I posted some questions about food allergies because we just found out a few days ago that my 5-year-old son is allergic to shrimp. The allergist is also going to test him for other shellfish and non-shellfish. When I posted my concerns on the disABILITIES board, I got some great replies from people that are experienced in going to WDW with food allergies.

You can email specialdiets@disneyworld.com and tell them about your allergies. I am going to do this as soon as we find out if my son has other fish and shellfish allergies. His allergies will be linked with our ADRs. People also replied that if you have the food allergies noted on all your ADRs, the chef will come and speak to you at each restaurant. It can take much longer if it is not noted on your ADR. In addition, if you are eating at a buffet and there is something that you want but you are afraid of cross-contamination, the chef will prepare it fresh for you in the kitchen and it will be brought out to you. It seems they make is very convenient and easy to dine there worry-free!

Glad to pass this information along, as it was very helpful and relieving to me!

Thanks so much :) We never keep our allegens in the house so I totally forgot until I was looking at food porn and saw a lot of blue cheese and sour cream :( Hope you have a great and allergy free trip :) Thanks again for the e-mail address.

You're welcome! I hope you have an allergy-free trip too! According to what many people have said, Disney is excellent with handling food allergies. I am not nervous at all about going there. I'm sure my son will also feel special since the chefs will come out and speak to us and to him.

I would go ahead and e-mail Brenda Barrett (at the above e-mail address) now. I e-mailed her yesterday and just received an e-mail with lots of really good info (ie what alternatives WDW has and so forth). You wouldn't have to fill out the form until all of the testing is done.
