AK - 3-Bedroom - Kidani or Jambo House?

We are considering reserving a 3 bedroom with Savanna view. What are the differences between the 3-bedroom at Kidani vs Jambo House? Which one would you recommend?

We will be hosting our niece and nephew, ages 3 and 5 (and other family adults!)...and thought they would enjoy the Savanna view ..and difference between Kidani Vs Jambo House?

Jambo is the old Animal Kingdom Lodge building where DVC is on the converted fifth and sixth floors, and the hotel rooms occupy the rest. Jambo has three restaurants including a buffet and counter service while Kidani has only a table service restaurant that is not open for breakfast. Jambo has the larger store, pool and lobby, while Kidani has the larger slide and an elaborate kids water play area. From front door to front door of the two buildings is about 1/2 mile. Kidani has ideal under-building parking, and with elevators along the wings, you can usually park fairly close to your room. Jambo parking is in a lot across from the front of the building.

There are 6 GVs at Jambo and 16 at Kidani, two of which are standard view (actually Pembe savanna view but in area where animals seldom stay). The Kidani GVs are very nice, two stories, and right near the top of the stairs they actually have an extra pull-out couch and sitting area. The Jambo GVs are all single story, have significantly larger porches than Kidani, and have a pool table. Personal view is that the Jambo GVs are the best on site.

ive never stayed at either, but jambo looks nicer.


the 3 oversized balconies look amazing to hang out on ! I love the action of the jambo house lobby vs. kidani being quiet and laid back

I think it would be cool to have a pool table in the jambo GV.

that said kidani grand villas all look into great savanna views. a couple of the jambo gv seem like they could have less than perfect views based on what ive seen on google earth.
