AKL Pool View room help needed

Hoping I didn't just make a *huge* mistake and if I did that you all can help me sort this out so I can change our room request with plenty of lead time.

Love, love, love AKL but I have never stayed at AKL in any room other than Savanna view. This trip, since the Savanna rooms are soooo expensive I opted for Pool View because I didn't want to get a room looking at the parking lot . I know I know.....snobby! While talking to a AKL itinerary specialist to book a tour, I mentioned that I hadn't put in a room request, we discussed options and only after I talked to her did it occur to me to check google and youtube for video and photos of the rooms. OMG the pool noise in the pool room videos is sooooo loud! And I'm not talking the sound of people, I mean the music. I don't recall the music being that loud but now I'm really thinking I made a huge mistake in booking this category so....can you help a girl out and answer a few questions for me?

-Did you like your pool view room?
-Did you hear the music in your room and if you did, what time did it start and end each day? I'm not talking the quiet, relaxing stuff. This was like thumping pool party music which I love when I'm exercising or driving but not when I'm trying to chill with a cup of coffee.
-Is one area of the pool view rooms preferable to the other? I told her that it is just the two of us traveling for our 30th anniversary and we like it a bit quieter so she said to go with zebra trail. Is that better than giraffe up towards the jacuzzi/hot tub?

I don't normally stress over this stuff because any day at Disney for me is better then a day anywhere else but this trip has been a mess in terms of planning since day 1 due to family emergencies and such. We'll be at AKL for 6 nights and then we head over to our other home away from home, WL, for 6 nights as well.

There are always pros and cons to every room. If you get a pool view, depending on how close the room is you may hear some noise. I believe the pool is open around 9am. We stayed in a pool view and we really didnt have any loud noise while in the room, but if you sit on the balcony outside you will hear some noise. Trust me if you like to look outside of your room, I'd take the pool view with a little noise then a quieter view looking at a roof or parking lot. The music you may have heard was when they have there poolside party, its daily from 3-4 I think where they play games etc... Also, if you do happen to get a parking lot view, you may be able to ask for a room switch when you check in. Sometime they will give you a room on the savannah that has a partially blocked view, which could be a tree, bushes or post. The view is still a good one, just not a full price one!

-Did you like your pool view room? we loved our pool view room! We were on 4th floor Zebra trail very close to the pool area. The pool at night is beautiful. Some of my favorite memories are sitting on the balcony with DH enjoying the night time pool area.

We take a daily nap/break and never noticed any noise from the pool area. I can not remember what time the pool party started, but we never heard it.

We loved our Pool view room at AKL and would stay there again no problem!

Thank you both for your comments! Sounds like I may want to reconsider where we requested but at least I know it is going to be quieter than I anticipated after seeing the videos!

Both of my stays at AKL were POOL views. Never had a problem at all.

The only time I remember there being loud music was during mid-day activites for the kids at the POOL!!

And I got plenty of savannah viewing time in. Made it a point to always check one out leaving or returning.

I love the AKL, it is my FAVORITE of those I stayed at.

We also had no problems with our pool view room, just off the 4th floor elevators Zebra Trail. Once the balcony doors were closed, we heard nothing. Comfortable, lovely, convenient room.

Oh gosh I feel much better! Thank you all soooo much!!!

So one last question then....do you think Zebra or Giraffe makes that much of a difference? Is there less foot traffic on one wing over the other? It would seem Giraffe is quieter but it sounds like a lot of my "I thought" ideas about the POOL views was way off so who knows??? lol

Can't wait to go! And we're doing the Waynama Safari again!!!!
