Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Toddler, teen and tween activity question

I am planning a trip to for next Spring. It will be hubby, me and our then 2 and a half year old son; my parents who are in their 60s (my dad is a huge animal lover); my best friend from high school, her hubby? 17 year old and 8 year old girls. My question is I know that there is a lot that goes on at the values pools for pretty much all ages.

Can anyone tell me if there are really great children's activities that the age range that we have will enjoy?

Here's the link to this month's activity calendar. It should give you a good idea of what to expect. They have some interesting things for all ages, though I would think the 17 yo will be by the pool the whole time!
