Another Blaze update, would appreciate prayers (back from specialist, upd mid-pg 1)

Took Blaze in this morning for his second opinion visit and that vet started to say almost the same thing until he felt what acted like stool in the colon area on Blaze. Well, first vet has said that, too, so I mentioned that and this vet did a complete turnaround on his thoughts, rushed Blaze in for x-rays, and found some kind of unidentified "angry" mass on/near his colon. They got a couple of cell samples from it and that showed that it's not cancer and there was something else he said it was not, but they couldn't identify what it was other than that the body is very angry at that. His feel is we identify the mass, we find the problem. So he has sent us to a specialist to do the ultrasound on the mass and said he can't say for certain, but Blaze may end up having to go in for surgery to remove whatever that unidentified mass is. We have the appointment for the ultrasound this afternoon at 2:30 central, and I would very, very much appreciate prayers that they can identify the mass and, if necessary, safely remove it or if not necessary, successfully treat it. I'll be away from my computer until this evening, but I will update everyone as soon as I get home.

sending prayers and pixie dust for little Blaze...and for you too...

My prayers are with Blaze and you, Tammi. I must say I am glad they are beginning to find out what might be causing this. I hope all goes well with the sonogram this afternoon and that whatever is wrong will be 100% treatable. Hang in there and give Blaze some hugs and kisses for me :)

Oh, your poor little fur baby. He doesn't even understand what is going on. You've got our good wishes and I'll be looking forward to a happy update!

Tammi - I am so sorry that you are having to go through all of this. I will keep you and Blaze in my prayers. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for you and your furbaby. I hope all goes well. Please keep us posted when you can.

I'm praying that the vet will be able to identify and successfully treat whatever is wrong. Hugs to you, your DH and your kitties.

I'll keep you and Blaze in my prayers - I hope they can find out what this is and perform the necessary treatment.

Prayers for all of you Tammi! Lots of hugs for all of you!

poor guy. :(

But it sounds like good progress and I hope they find something that is easy to treat Rajah.

Saying a prayer for Blaze. Sounds like they have found the problem and Blaze will make a full recovery. My thoughts are with you and Blaze. :D

We're back, but I'm afraid it may not be good news this time. The specialist disagrees with the second vet and says there's enough signs that she's suspicious it is cancer. She's certain it's something with his lymph nodes, which could be either infected or lymphoma. She's sending some samples to the pathologist, which will either come back with an answer, or say inconclusive. If it's inconclusive, they'll have to do the more invasive larger needle biopsy which does require him to be sedated rather than the tiny needle sample they did. I didn't want to put him through that unless it's necessary, so I opted to have the sample sent off just in case. She said she saw a few round cells which may be cancerous but aren't always and she's leaving it up to the pathologist to decide. She also recommended the feeding tube, but I don't want to sedate him any more than is necessary. He'll probably be sedated regardless tomorrow, and we'll wait until then to do the tube. He didn't eat enough chicken last night to be worth trying, he's just not going to eat enough on his own regardless of what it is.

I am so sorry that the specialists thinks it may not be good. But, until you hear otherwise, think positively :) I know it must be hard. {{{HUGS}}}

I am sorry the tests weren't more promising, Tammi. My prayers are with Blaze and I hope that it will turn out to be nothing too serious and will be treatable. {{{hugs}}}

Poor thing :(
And so tough on you too.

Sending PD and positive thoughts your way!

Poor baby. You've been through so much with your fur babies. You are such a wonderful mommy. I'm so glad Blaze picked you. I'm still praying for a good outcome.:D

I am sorry it is not more encouraging. Prayers that they can do something to fix it.

Sending some pixie dust and prayers that everything turns out fine. I always find it interesting when different doctors come up with a different idea of what's wrong. I hope these tests tell them for sure what's the matter. {HUGS} Keep us informed!!
