Anyone done this?

Ok, I don't know if my situation was fluke but wanted to see if this someone actually did this and if so, HOW?

I had called and got PS for the Princess Breakfast at 7:30am. That day the park opened at 8am. I went to the front gate and was turned away. I knew of the situation but thought they'd let me in?!?!

It DID happen to be an EE day and I knew that as well. However, I wanted to use my EE day on another day.

After telling the two gals at the gates my situation AND what I wanted to do they still didn't let me in. I did NOT make a scene, get up set, or rude in any way, I just talked to them and then made the decision to go ahead and use the EE to get in.

So my question really is, why do they have 7:30am PS if you can't get in that early? Has anyone gotten inside the park on an EE day without using it but just to get to the Plaza Inn? Has anyone gotten into the park for their PS at 7:30am when the park opens at 8am?

Any help would be apreciated.

they allowed us to do that. Of course, we were staying on site and had EE, even tho I never used it. I don't think AK had EE days at that time...geez, it's been 6 years so I really don't remember. I think the only EE was at MK. All along I've been thinking that we got in because of the PS.

HM...I'm almost sure it had to be the PS. The CMs at the rope never even looked at my ticket, so how would they have known we were staying on site and had EE tickets????

I also remember getting in early at AK for the breakfast. They have your name on a list and escort you to the waiting area and then as a group to the restaurant. I think this is a common practice at WDW, but I don't know anything about DL - it doesn't seem to operate as efficiently so it doesn't surprise me that they gave you a PS before opening time - maybe since it was an EE day they assumed you were going to use it, but you would think they would clarify that when you make your PS.

I was wondering about how early the Princess breakfast takes PSs too, and if you can be let in to eat before the park opens...I have noticed that WDW and Disneyland are completely different in that respect, so they can't be compared. We could be let in early to dine at a character breakfast in WDW so that it wouldn't take up any park time, but I think at the Plaza Inn in Disneyland its a different story. I assume from reading your post Mom2Joce, that you can only eat at Plaza Inn when the park is open (or open because of EE, but we don't want to do that.) So it changes my plans from doing the earliest seating to the latest seating for breakfast. Thanks for posting your experience with the EE and the Princess Breakfast, it answered my question!

Yea, no one else has had a different experience or posted that they have so I'm guessing that because it was a day that WAS and EE that that was the reason for the 7:30am PS. Wished they would have let me know that but it's ok!! It all worked out for the best and now I'm informed!

Your bunch there is just too cute!! Have a great time visiting for the 50th. It was a total blast and I can't wait to get back in the fall :)
