Anyone go down a status matching rabbit hole?

I have an upcoming Vegas trip and have been watching lots of YouTube videos. One of the videos talked about multiple ways to get various casino statuses through status match.

In my case it started with a Wyndham credit card. The credit card comes with a $95 annual fee but that is immediately offset by the Wyndham points awarded annually. Enough points to get 1 to 2 nights in a Wyndham hotel.

The second step was to match the Wyndham Diamond status to Caesars Diamond. Since we are staying in a Caesars hotel on our trip this saves us about $550 dollars for the trip. Caesars Diamond does not pay resort fees or parking/valet fees. It also comes with $100 in dining credit to be used once a year.

So that got me looking to see what else I could match.

It turns out that there is an agreement between Royal Caribbean/Celebrity and MGM. I was able to match my Royal Caribbean status to Celebrity Cruises and then to MGM to get MGM Gold. That will also help the Las Vegas trip since now we get free valet/parking at all the MGM resorts. We will be able to park at any resort we want to saving on an Ubers we might have taken.

A little research says I should also have some luck in Las Vegas at the Mirage getting some status and free play and perhaps at Fontainebleu.

Even if nothing comes of the other matches, getting status with Caesars and MGM will save me $500+ a year with my annual trips.

I've read that MSC status matches with other cruise lines. We will be Platinum on NCL after our next cruise and I will status match with MSC before I give them a try.

I am thinking that Vegas will be my birthday trip destination next year. I would be interested in links to the YoutTube videos, if you don't mind sharing.

I have an upcoming Vegas trip too.
I was hoping for a nice MGM stay with my Hyatt matched status. That breakup and the lackluster Marriott replacement left me disappointed. I cancelled and moved to the Marriott grand Chateau to use up some Marriott points.

Even myvegas has been gutted by MGM.

There are still lots of great things to do in Vegas. Status gets me and the family to Vegas but once there... I feel I am all outta luck.

Sounds like a lot of matching! Good for you. Vegas is not anywhere on my travel list and never will be, so nope, not for me.

It’s not just casino status matching. There are hotels and airlines that also status match. Though many times the match is short lived and comes with criteria to meet to continue with the matched status.

I am also going to Vegas next week and have been taking notes. I too have Caesars Diamond Status from matching Wyndham Diamond. Staying at Paris all comped including daily fees. Flying with SW points.

I read yesterday that right now Wynn is matching the Caesars Diamond to their Platinum Tier. (I think this is only thru May). I believe you get a Dining Credit from Wynn for your Birthday. (Doesn't help me - as Birthday is in June).

Then they said to take they Wynn Platinum and go to Fontainebleau and match there. Then you will get a $150 Dining credit good until the end of the year. (must be used at one time). You also get a Spa Credit but reports are conflicting if you need to stay at their hotel to use it. But I will definitely be using the dining credit. (plus the one we get for Caesars). Just remember to do the status match ( They also have a $15 Free Play plus something else for new sign ups - but you can only do one or the other - so make sure you do the status match)

Also conflicting reports on getting a $50-$100 Dining Credit at Hard Rock (Mirage). But may try that also.

I've done it to get some great rates on rental cars. Getting President's Circle for Hertz while paying for a discounted compact SUV was pretty nice. I also have Hilton and Marriott status through cards, but I've never tried the casinos.
