anyone use a double stroller cover on a single?

i bought a dbl stroller cover for our dbl stroller last year and was never used or even out of the pkg. So i was wondering if anyone has used a dbl for a single sized graco? would it fit? would it be worse than using a poncho?? i havent taken it out of the pkg to see how it fits cause i dont want to try to fit into the pgk. we are going in dec 1-9
