Val,
This idea sounds fantastic. I agree the cruise, date, and the images should be on the banner. This will be such a great phot.

How about if we laid the banner on the floor in front of all of us...it should show then..

yes, that would probably work really well....and people could even stand all around the banner looking up rather than the traditional "on the stairs in the atrium" pose

Or two people who don't want to be in the picture can hold banner up above their heads, standing behind the whole group.....

Yes I have taken Champagne girl pictures more than once on cruises....and I know we've had "non-professional" group photos of pajama breakfast taken before, too, by just a CM who was out and about in the lobby area in the morning......so if that's the route we want to go, i think that's totally fine. i'm not likely to buy a shutters print anyway because they always print them as an 8x10 only.....and when Jason and I do shutters, we usually do the CD and don't actually buy any prints (becuase we never display 8x10 shots at our house....we print them all as 4x6 or smaller so they can go in either our scrapbook or on our magnetic photo display walls in our basement). I also like the CD because then you have the images electronically so that you can load them into blogs, online profiles as avatars, etc. I don't konw what we would have put in our wedding website (www.libeywedding.com) if it weren't for Shutters CD's since over 3/4 of the shots on there are from the ship (or disney photopass CDs LOL)

Wonderful webpage!!!!

Stephanie here - so, I think I just need your stateroom # as well as Susie and Curt for a total of 4 adults and then we can submit the request to DCL. We also have 4 adults in our group.

I have Hayley's stateroom # from the FB page, but I'd need her friends' Melissa and John's stateroom # to add to the request. Hayley, her hubby, Melissa & John are another 4 adults.

That puts us at 12. We could take another 2 adults if anyone else wants to join us!

Thanks
Stephanie

I sent you a PM with our real names. We are still GTY. I hope that is ok.

Wonderful webpage!!!!

THANKS!!

Yeah the wedding webpage has been a wonderful thing...not only was it fun to make and has been fun for all our friends, family and guests to visit and explore----but it's made lots of the small details much easier in terms of doing online RSVPs, not having to include too much detailed information in the printed invitations, providing active links to our gift registries, and giving us an opportunity to provide links to all the people involved in the planning of our wedding (on the "Our Team" page) so that we can help these great vendors get new business, too! :)

SanDiego Steph- Who did you rent your car from for Maui? We would like to rent a car on Maui but are there shuttles to the car rental places any help would be appreciated. Genny

We are renting with Budget. Got a super deal with Budget ($35 including taxes for an intermediate) through Kayak.com. They said to call when we get into the port and they will come pick us up with a shuttle. I talked with them direct after making the reservation and they sounded totally familiar with the cruise process.

As for our (fur)baby----he's wonderful. I don't know HOW I'm going to cope with being without him on the cruise for two weeks. I think I'm going to go get him a "helper dog" vest so the ship has to allow him to come on the trip with us! :rotfl2:

We also have a fur baby now and I am also agonizing over this. Last summer we just did a camping trip so she could go with us. Another time, we left town for a couple of days and had our daughter's family stay here. Apparently she whined or hid the entire time (even though they had spent plenty of time with her). We have her scheduled for a kennel, but I'm afraid she will think that she has been abandoned (again) - she was a rescue dog.

I just had an idea that I want to run by the group. A number of you talked about having a group photo taken with the 153 of us in our cruise shirts (and of course anyone else who wants to join in). Vista Prints has a banner I can have made that we can hold in front of us. Is these to cheesy? What would would want on the banner? The images and text on our shirts identifying the cruise and year?

Yes, yes!!!! :dance3:

Wish I could say I have "A" fur baby, but we have 4! Two small Shih Tzus and two young cats. I have never had to leave the dogs this long (figure 5-6 weeks) we are driving and doing Disneyland and visiting friends so that part is bad. But I have a lovely adult granddaughter who will spend her nights here and a great friend who will come see them a few times during each day and let them out and play with all of them. Boy I'll I have a couple of large IOU's this summer.

We have two Goldens...spoiled rotten.....I found one kennel few weeks ago and lady owning it didn't give me right vibe from a second I saw her. I was stressing over this and looking for another one and found one this past Monday. Great setup and wonderful people are running it and now I feel a little better. It't not home, but we have nobody who would sit them in our house for so long.

Hey all....my DW and I have never done the FE....filled out the form on the first page to sign up....is there anything else we need to do?
Thanks.

Well, our Merlin is an almost one year old Yorkie puppy----the love of my life (shhh...don't tell Jason :lmao:)! Luckily, our wedding is just a week prior to the cruise and Jason's parents are coming to the wedding. They live only about 2 hours away, they know Merlin very well AND they actually own his older sister, Maggie, who he adores. So the morning after the wedding they are going to take Merlin home with them and he's going to stay with them and play with his sister while we're gone....so I just agonize about how much I miss him when I'm gone...not about what will happen to him because I'm very glad we have a trusted place to leave him where he'll get great care from people who love him almost as much as we do!

(And also....Merlin isn't our only pet either-----we also have:
1.) a noble macaw (small species of parrot) named Sarabi.....she is 14 years old and she gets boarded with a great lady named Sue who is also her groomer (and who actually worked at the pet store where I got her when she was a baby...so Sue has know Sarabi for even longer than I have).
and
2.) A calico cat named Demeter---she is pretty antisocial with anyone other than the 2 of us and she HATES leaving the house, so she stays home and pretty much keeps to herself and we have a friend who comes by and feeds her twice a day and hangs out and watches TV so that Demeter can see there is someone in the house (even though she avoids coming out when she's here anyway)

....and then that same friend also feeds our many fish----one 65gallon aquarium filled with various species of freshwater tropical fish and 4 bettas in 4 separate bowls around the house.

It's quite a menagerie! :thumbsup2

I am so glad to see other groups forming for the Palo Brunch.:)

I faxed them our request today (with a sweet letter)and received this back from Disney...

"We have received your request for the Palo Private Room for your sailing on April 29, 2012

We cannot confirm the Booking of the Private Room until March 29, 2012. The Disney Wonder does not release the Private Room to the Cruise Activities Team until 30 days prior to the sailing.

As of right now I have availability for brunch at 10:30am on any of the sea days.

The Private Room can accommodate a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 Guests. If your guest count falls below 12 or goes above 14 then the Private Room will have to be forfeited.

If the Private Room is confirmed, any Guests that have their own independent Palo Reservation will have it removed. Each Stateroom is only allowed one Palo dining per sailing.

Once we can confirm the Palo Private Room for your party, you will receive a Confirmation Email. Please make sure to read and inform all Guests of the Policies and Procedures.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We look forward to assisting you.
