I realize this is going to make some people mad, but I just want to know the technical rules. My sister lives in Ontario and she wants to come and visit me in Ohio for a few weeks. She’s 28 years old, healthy, and has already had the first Pfizer shot. She was planning on flying to Cleveland, visiting me in Ohio for a few weeks, and then driving across the border with me and we would quarantine for two weeks (and take all the tests and do all the paperwork we need to do) just the two of us at my parents’ cottage. I’m a US permanent resident, but a Canadian citizen. I haven’t been able to see my family in well over a year and this will be the only time I can visit them (because of the two week quarantine) for a while. I had Covid in February (very mild case, thankfully) and I am fully vaccinated. I know all the rules for driving into Canada, but is she even able to fly out of the country for nonessential reasons? I know it’s HIGHLY frowned upon, but are you actually able to do it? I’m sure I’ll get plenty of hate for this and we probably won’t even do it, but I miss my family so freaking much.
