ORLANDO, Fla. -- An armored vehicle robbery at a popular Walt Disney World hotel was likely an inside job, involving several people, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said the Garda Security Company notified Disney security of the theft of some money from an armored truck at the Grand Floridian Hotel.
When officers arrived at the scene, three occupants of the armored truck said that after making a delivery at the Grand Floridian Hotel, they noticed one of the doors to the truck was open and money was missing. After an investigation, it was determined that one of the occupants of the armored vehicle had made previous arrangements with two friends to steal the money while the delivery was being made, a sheriff's news release said.
Orange County sheriff's detectives said they arrested Johnnie Bernard Leonard, 24, in connection with the incident.
Detectives said they located the other men believed to be responsible for the crime and were interviewing them.
The money had not been recovered Wednesday afternoon.
