August Exercise Challenge...Everyone Welcome!

The end of summer is here! But let's not get complacent thinking about our warm cozy sweaters. You still want to feel great about yourself, so get moving!! I'll help you keep track this month!

The challenge is on. And it's a challenge by you to you! Challenge yourself to do "x" number of minutes of exercise this month and then Get Moving!


Post as frequently as you like and I will update the list throughout the month. Please tell me how many minutes you have completed along with your goal for the challenge. For example "I did 60 minutes on the treadmill yesterday, and am now at 60/1200".


As you reach milestones for the month, your name and total will change color in this post.
At 10%, you'll be bright pink
When you reach 25%, you'll be orange
When you reach 50%, you'll be purple
When you reach 75%, you'll be turquoise
At 90%, you'll be red (because you are on fire!)
When you hit 100%, you'll be WISH green!

I'm in for 2000 again. After 2 walks today I am at 72/2000. I overslept and missed my class at the Y so will have to do some of that workout later today, plus need to get back to lifting weights more often! Don't think once a month is doing me too much good! :rolleyes1

I surpassed my goal in July so I'm considering just bumping my goal up just a bit. So I think I'll go for 1600 this month.

Thank you for hosting again! I am in for another 3000 minutes in August.

Today's exercise - 111 minutes

With my wife:
Warmup walk - 5 minutes
Ran 3.5 miles (ran strides) - 45 minutes
Cooldown walk - 10 minutes

By myself:
Warmup walk - 5 minutes
Ran 3.5 miles - 36 minutes (was supposed to run 5 miles, but got up a bit late)
Cooldown walk - 10 minutes

August tally - 111/3000
 
I'm in again for 1500 - and this time I WILL make it. I'll be down in Disney on the 31st and I want to enjoy the dining without guilt!
 
Hmm, I am not sure how to do this. I dont think of exercise by minutes completed. I am training for my first half marathon, so I am looking at distance, not time. I guess 1400 should work as a starting point. And if I manage to keep up posting on here for the whole month, I will alter it for September once I figure out how long my runs actually take each week.
 


Im going to shoot for 2000 (roughly just over 60 minutes a day for the month).

Today I got 90 minutes (60 of Yoga, and 30 of weights)

In the 100s all week here - it's like walking in an oven in the evenings. LOW temps in the morning are 80! I'm lining up my excuses for fewer minutes this month. :rotfl:

Let's try 1100 again, with 43 completed this morning.

I'm bumping it up but have more free nights this month to dedicate to it!

I'm in for 800 again. I did not make it last month but I definitely should this month as wine and dine training really starts to kick in. I'm going to add in serious core work too.

Off to a good start.

I did a 60 minute pilates reformer class and then 30 minutes of walking to get myself to my 10,000 steps for the day

so 90/1400
