What are the odds of getting days in August through the wait list? I can't get as many as I would like.

Also...

If it turns out I can't stay at Aulani, with my DVC card, can I "use" the facilities?
(I think I know the answer, but thought I would ask anyway!)

Bad news first Paul

Resort facilities like the pool are for resort guests only. You can use the beach (all beaches in Hawaii are public) and the restaurants of course. There is a charge for parking, I believe unless you are staying on points.

Now the good news, we were able to get our waitlist this year for August 17-21 1BR OV. I do see that some random nights are available in that week in 1BRs.

We booked what was available for our dates (which included a couple room changes) and waitlisted the dates in the 1BR OV. Waitlist came through in very short order, less than a week I think.
