Will back to back cruisers have to pay for the rapid covid test now that DCL has required we have to take one before boarding the second leg of the cruise. We are fully vaccinated and have uploaded our proof of vaccination cards.

I don't think it's clear yet from the posted information. Guess we find out in a week.

I thought from reading the safe passage website that if you are fully vaccinated and uploaded proof that you do not have to complete a rapid test. But I may have read that wrong. Or they may change the policy between now and when we actually cruise.

According to their website it would seem DCL pays, if they are considering a B2B as falling into the "vaccinated Guests arriving from outside the United States", but I would recommend checking with DCL - AND GETTING IT IN WRITING from them.

See link and the (added) bold below: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/before-you-leave-home-us/

Voluntarily Choose to Provide Proof of a COVID-19 Vaccination
Guests who are fully vaccinated may choose to provide proof of vaccination in order to be exempt from pre-arrival and Embarkation Day COVID-19 testing (unless arriving from outside the United States). The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers people to be fully vaccinated 14 days after the final dose has been administered. Guests may visit the Safe Passage website beginning 33 days before—but no later than 24 hours before—sailing to upload an image file (PDF, JPG, TIFF, etc.) showing proof of vaccination, preferably a vaccination card. For Guests choosing this option and to be exempt from certain policies on board, it is recommended to bring proof of vaccination (vaccination card) to the port for embarkation. Keep in mind, vaccinated Guests arriving from outside the United States who are required to undergo the rapid test on Embarkation Day will not be charged for the test. Additionally, travel insurance is not required for vaccinated Guests arriving from outside the United States on sailings originating in the United States.

Hopefully none of this applies to us on the Fantasy (some think possibly they split the 7 days in to 3/4 days).

DCL - AND GETTING IT IN WRITING from them.

I would just call out that having it in writing will likely only help you get money back or a credit from Disney. Its unlikely to get you an exception to the process itself.

So if you show up for the 2nd leg and they require the testing they likely will just say it was a mistype/old policy and if you want to board you have to get tested. If you throw a fit I could see them removing you from the terminal area.

Anyone going soon needs to keep in mind Disney may change things for better or worse. If there is a larger change Disney likely will work with you (this is a guess).

B2B cruisers have to test between sailings.

" All Guests on back-to-back, consecutive sailings will be required to undergo a rapid PCR COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics at the terminal after debarking the ship following their first cruise, before reboarding the ship for their second cruise."

Definitely things can change. The OP was asking if DCL will pay or the guest has to pay, which is why I suggested get it in writing that DCL is paying for the test. This is course assumes the test is happening [which under current policy it seems to be for B2B] and it is only a question of who is paying.

Well I said that the policy could be updated at any time. I am glad this update was clarified. As for payment DCL seems super happy to have the on-site tested charged to our stateroom portfolio. This would be my expectation.

On the U.K. cruises all B2B'ers were told to meet in one of the lounges onboard the ship the morning of their 2nd cruise. Unvaccinated people and kids were re-tested. Then, they waited in a second lounge until the ship had cleared customs. I'm not sure if U.S. Customs laws will allow the same protocol. At worst, I imagine everyone will be required to meet in a lounge onboard and then escorted off the ship as a group for re-testing before being allowed back on the ship. With the increase in the Delta variant, it would not surprise me if everyone will be required to test, even those fully vaccinated.

And DIsney be like "I see you have tested positive after your first cruise with us. Please stay right here as we go into your stateroom and toss everything into these cardboard boxes for you. Have a Magical day"

Is this from the DCL website or the Safe Passage website?

Has anyone been on a b2b and can confirm if fully vaxed cruisers have to test between cruises. I was looking for it and couldn’t find it again.

I found it finally. Seems it’s been modified now and only unvaccinated cruisers have to be tested between b2b cruises.

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I would be happy to assist you.

For back-to-back sailings in the US, guests who are fully vaccinated can provide their proof and opt-out of the rapid test.

On your 1st debarkation day, the Clearance Officer will communicate logistics with you directly via Ship-to-Guest messaging on how your morning will go.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further assistance with any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!
