Backstage Safari Tour -AK - quick question

I have read it is a 3 hour tour and the CM takes you to where the animals sleep and are cared for.
They do not give you water bottles like other tours, so we will bring our own.

Now for my question - I called WDW tours, they said the Backstage safari tour does not go on the Safari rude in AK.

I thought a AK Safari ride with our CM tour guide is also included ?

Anyone not have the AK Safari ride not included in the tour ?

Any recent DIS'ers do the Backstage Safari tour and also do the AK Safaru ride with the tour ? If you did do the Safari ride, when did you do the Backstage tour (MM/YY) ?


We do the tour in 2 weeks. We would like to know.

When I took the tour back in 2010 right after the tour was finished we were escorted to the back entrance of the ride and were able to ride. It was not a private tour but it was nice not having to wait in line for it.

I hope we get to ride the Safari.
When we do the tour, I will ask the CM if we can do the Safari ride too - as in the FP line, without FP's - it would be great if we could.

This reviewer took the tour in 2011 and the Safari ride was included. I am signed up for this tour in July so I hope so as I am really looking forward to that part. Then I don't have to ride it later either when it gets busy I might call my IPO at AKL and check.
