Need help with banking and borrowing:

Oct 2022 - 275 points SSR
Oct 2023 - 400 points SSR
Oct 2024 - 400 points SSR
Oct 2025 - 400 points SSR

I want to book a non-home resort at the 7th month window which would be July 2023 for rooms in Feb 2024

How many points will I have to use?

Feb 2024 falls in you October 2023 UY. If you bank the 2022 points and borrow the 2024 points you will have 1075 points to use for the reservation. You won't be able to use the 2025 points.

I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

Easiest way for me is to first figure out which of my UYs the trip happens.

Then I know I can book it with banked points from the UY prior to the trip, points from the UY of the trip, and borrow points to finish the reservation from the UY after the trip.

Since. Feb 2024 trip is in your 2023 UY, it’s banked 2022, 2023, and borrowed 2024.

Be sure to get those 2022 points banked w/in the first 8 months of your use year which, in your case, is by the end of May 2023, so that they’ll be waiting for you to use when you go to book in July 2023
A lot of people book their home resort at 11 months & then switch at 7 months in order to not risk being shut out - but w/ SSR being so big perhaps that’s less of a concern?
