Bathroom Remodel

I would go with #4. I normally don't like white subway tile but it makes sense with the age and character of your home. I would chrome bathroom fixtures like this https://www.vintagetub.com/randolph...aucet-porcelain-lever-handles-rmh302pl-s.html
For the mirror I'd choose a vintage style mirror like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Gatco-4689-C...lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Another appropriate option would be a medicine cabinet like this: https://www.vintagetub.com/privy-pi...-medicine-cabinet-with-left-hinge-bh26wl.html

I’m still flip-flopping between light blue 4 1/4” wall tile and while subway for the walls.

Yes, I am doing chrome fixtures and a vintage style medicine cabinet. I really need to make the tile decision now as everything else is decided.

As much as I actually loved a few of the wallpaper samples, I decided to go with paint. I may eventually decide to add wallpaper but I want to live with the new version of the room for a bit before I add it.

With regard to tile the only I thing I would recommend you avoid are those HUGE tile slabs that now seem popular on TV home design shows. I think part of their popularity is that they take less labor to install and can install a large area in a relatively short period of time. The problem is that any uneven application of adhesive and/or settling of the floor or foundation is far more likely to make large tile crack compared to smaller ones. Color of tile is really a matter of personal preference which is partly why they make so many different colors/styles. In a bathroom, I would always choose a dark color of grout (not white) since any bit of dirt/mildew will show up more easily on white grout and be very difficult to keep clean.

I recently underwent a bathroom remodel and faced the same dilemma with tile choices. My original bathroom had a vintage charm with its classic tiles, but a remodel was necessary due to wear and tear. Like you, I wanted to maintain the house's character while updating the space. After much consideration, I opted for a neutral wall tile, which allowed me more flexibility with decor changes over time. Going neutral on the walls and adding colour through accents like towels and art pieces kept the space fresh and adaptable.

I decided on a freestanding option for the bathtub to add a modern yet timeless touch. I chose an Oval Freestanding Bath from https://www.aquaticabath.co.uk/category/oval-freestanding-bathtubs, which fits perfectly in my standard-sized bathroom. The dimensions (177.3 L x 88.6 W x 65 H) were ideal, and the 25-year limited warranty was a huge plus. This bathtub added a sculpted, contemporary feel while still complementing the classic style of the house.
