I don't like to say I'm "great" at something, moreover that I try and am pretty good at a few things, like differential equations, the MLA citation system, teaching college students, languages.

Do you think good teachers might have made a difference? Back in college (1970s), I took a mathematical logic course. Took it one semester and the professor would show us several ways to work a problem which confused me. Had a "C" at midterm so I dropped it. A semester or so later, I took the course with a different professor who taught one way to solve and I aced the class with 100%.
Had always heard "teachers can make a difference" but had not really believed it until I lived it myself.
