Best Non Disney "Member Getaways"?

We are brand new to DVC, expecting to close on a resale in the next two weeks. We would love to hear from the old hands about their favorite non-Disney Getaways, especially any experience with the European timeshares.
What was your best "Member Getaway" experience? What was your worst?
Which "Member Getaway" do you think is the best value for your points?

You'll get a lot of conflicting opinions about whether Member Getaways are a good use of your points at all. Alternatives include renting your points and traveling on the cash, renting a condo, owning another timeshare for trading, etc.

For our family, the simplicity of Member Getaways has its own value. Our happiest trades have been to the Marriott Ford's Colony at Williamsburg, VA and the Kona Coast II on the Big Island of Hawaii.
