We are going to Disneyland in the fall November 23-Dec 3. I have a 6 year old girl that I plan on taking to the Boutique in the park. I plan on getting the top of the line package. I'd love to hear from anyone that's done this for their child and how you'd rate the experience.

I also noticed that they said it's starting price for that package. What would cause the package to go up for the high-end package? Anyone know?

And one more question, I have an 8 year old boy that I thought would be fun to get the knight's package for him. It also had a "starting price". Anyone have experience with boys for this one and what it all entails?

Thanks so much for any help!

We did Bibbidi Bobbidi July 2013, so I know things have changed some since then, but we did the package that is just hair and makeup (we bought costume from Disney Store ahead of time).. The photo pass was different back then, so I am not sure about pictures, but this is what she looked like, upon completion.. She LOVED it and proudly wore her dress until evening that day, almost 7 hours! princess:princesselle.jpg

My daughter was 7 when we went in November at WDW, and plan to take her again in August in DL. She absolutely loved it!! I got the $59 package with hair, makeup and nails and we brought our own dress. I think 'starting price' means that the price varies a bit depending on which dress/outfit you choose. Have fun!!

The price varies based on the dress and accessories chosen.
The knight's pkg usually consists of a foam sword and shield and hairstyle.

If you are looking for an alternative, we did Anna & Elsa's boutique in downtown Disney on Friday and the girls loved it. I liked the hairstyles much more, they easily lasted all day and my 7 year old didn't want to sleep on it so we took it out Friday night but just took my 5 year olds hair out this morning (monday). It was $35 each for hair with colored extensions, tiara, makeup, nails, and the goodie bag with the makeup palette, nail polish, and combs and brushes. We didn't bring their princess dresses and I didn't want them to buy Anna and Elsa dresses we already have at home, so they bought tutus.

They do have an olaf package for boys that includes frosted tips and a spiky hairdo, with a tshirt.

Those are awesome! Thanks guys for the pictures. They really do help. I've always wanted to take my oldest daughter to it when I first saw it back in '07 but we haven't been back with her since. She'll be 14 when we go . SO I'm totally going to make sure we do it with our middle dauther this time. Littlest will have to wait a couple years ;)

My girls picked the hairstyle I disliked the most but they were happy as could be with their fake hair.
The price variation depends on what dresses and accessories they pick.

DD wanted a new dress anyway, so we splurged and got the castle package. The stylist wasn't very enthusiastic, but the photographer made her feel like a real princess. She also loved being escorted to the front of the line to greet the princesses. I think it's definitely worth it once. In the future we'll probably just do the crown package or A&E boutique. A&E has cute hairstyles, but it didn't seem as themed/magical as BBB IMHO.

We are planning on doing the Castle package. We already have lots of dresses and I know it's pricey, but I'm also taking into consideration the experience she will get. I want this to be the pinacle of what she remembers about going as a child. I remember a select few things when I went when I was 5 and this daughter will be 6. So hopefully she'll remember a tad more ;)

We did it back in October and it was awesome! The whole experience made the girls (9 and 11) feel like princesses the whole day. My youngest STILL wears her Jasmine outfit (which she wore for nearly the rest of the week we were there, btw) and my oldest will once in a while too.

We had a lovely time and the PP+ photogs got great shots of the girls in the carriage area.

Meeting the princesses was good too. Go early though, because ours was at 1 or 1:30 and we were pretty much the last group before the princesses left (or were switched out). It takes a good two hours all told.

Thanks for mentioning how long the process is. That was a question I had that I forgot to ask.

Anyone have, or know where I can find, pictures of the different hairstyles offered?

We took our granddaughter when she was five, she loved it. We brought our own dress and just got the hair and makeup package. When we went four years ago we used photoplass plus for extra pictures. I don't think that is available now.

I'm not sure if Pop Princess is still offered. When my girls were doing BBB at MK last summer, it was replaced by Color Star which is the same/similar to the Courtyard hair style. (I said the same, but my sister said not so)

On the DL website, it says one of the four, but only listed 3

  • Hair Style Choices
For the Crown and Castle package options, girls have the choice of one of 4 hairstyles:
    • Fairytale Princess
    • Disney Diva
    • Color Star

Maybe they change them up once in awhile then? I think the bun is consistently offered and they change up the other 2? My daughter only likes the bun so I guess I've never really paid attention to the other options! Lol.

Oh I love this! DD will love this and we are planning on doing a DTD trip the day we get in. Did you walk in or make a reservation?

I would get a reservation. You can call ahead. We stopped in on our way to the parks the day before we planned on doing it and got an 11:20 appt for the next morning. We were able to go into the parks for a bit and then just left at 11 to make it to our appt.

If you book a first appointment on a day with MM, do you need to have a MM ticket? Or is it the same as a dining reservation?

They show the Frozen options on the Cinderella's Castle location as well. Does anyone know for sure if they are an option there? I like the hairstyles better....
