Blue Bayou and Fantasmic

My wife and I both had the steak and scallops. The scallops were pretty good, but the steak was served rare - without them asking us what temperature we wanted it. We noticed another table had the same issue and sent their steak back. My wife sent hers back and it came back very well done - not what she wanted in either case. I’m not a chocolate fan (I know, I hear it from my wife all the time) but she had it and it was good, but almost too chocolaty - and she loves chocolate.

OK, those are not on the regular menu so sounds like we had entirely different food here. I was quite happy with my meal off the regular menu as was everyone in my party both times I went.

The chocolate dome dessert has a LOT going on what with the chocolate and the sauce and the berry cake and the mango sherbet and the fruity pebbles . I didn’t like it but my son happily ate mine and I loved the chocolate pudding off the kids menu, it was sooo good!

For others considering RBT Premium or Standard: I highly recommend the monkey bread substitution for dessert. It was maybe my favorite sweet at Disneyland.

I’m pretty sure you don’t have to buy the upgrade for everyone if you booked the regular Blue Bayou and are trying to upgrade. Whoever buys the upgrade will get tickets. Currently they have plenty of room and are not selling out on Fantasmic packages (viewing space is limited.)

Not sure if you’re allowed to downgrade if you booked the Fantasmic package (thinking fixed pricing) but I can ask.

What starters and entrees did you get?

I have gone twice and got the same entree both times (the chicken sandwich), no beans, double tater tots. It was very tasty! My SIL got the catfish open sandwich and said it was tasty but spicy. My vegetarian friends got the tofu skillet which was very good and the burnt ends grilled cheese but without the meat, so just plain grilled cheese. She enjoyed it. Kids got Mac n cheese and grilled chicken.

Once I had the beans and rice starter, which was tasty and filling but a little spicy (I liked it but would have been way too spicy for my child). I also got the salad and it was good!

Once the server offered the pimento cheese dip with pretzel bread off the regular since both our kids declined the available starters from the Fantasmic menu. It was good!

I was pleasantly surprised with the food taste, quality and service. I don’t know if I would eat here if not for the River Belle Fantasmic package but it was a good value if you’re going to be getting a package. We were totally stuffed!
