Booking window

When I book at AKL (non-home resort), does only the first day of the vacation have to fall in the 7-month window? I want to book Kidani for August 9 for 4 nights. Can I do that on January 9? Thanks!

Yes, once the first day is in the 7 month you can go 7 days from there.

It's usually referred to as check-in +7 and can be done at both the 11 month window for your home resort or 7 month window for your non-home resort. In your case your 7 month window from check in is January 9th and you'd be able to book up to 7 nights at that time - ie a stay from Aug 9th check in to Aug 16th check out. If you want to stay longer you'll need to call to add nights on to the reservation as the booking window advances.

Ok trying to figure this DVC thing out we are buying in within a couple of weeks trying to figure out if we will be able to book our future home resort during our usual Disney Vacation dates 12/19/18 - 12/26/18.

What is the resort? And are you buying direct or resale?

Yes we are buying direct hoping for Polynesian but if it's sold out from what we understand the only other option at Disney World is Copper Creek.

Actually DVC sells all resorts but they will definitely push you towards Copper Creek or Aulani. And the so called "sold out" resorts are dependent on points they have in inventory when you call much like Poly will likely be.

Since you'll have the points very quickly you will probably be ok for getting the room. If you can do it by the 19th it should be no problem and you could even ask them to get that first reservation for you. They will take care of that within reason for first time purchasers.

Wow thank you we had no idea we had other options besides Polynesian, Copper Creek and Aulani that's all they discussed during the tour! We have some rethinking to do!
