We just booked our first family cruise in December and we will have our 2 year old and a 6 month old with us. Our 6 month old will be breastfeeding and probably wouldn't be eating much table food except maybe some mashed bananas. I will obviously feed the baby before we head to dinner since I would like to enjoy my meal without being disturbed but I wanted to know how likely an issue would arise if the baby needed to be fed again during dinner time.
We requested a table alone as I do not wish to make anyone feel uncomfortable but I am not going to leave the dinning room in order to feed my child (nor will I let him go hungry) and I will discreetly do so at our table. I'm from Montreal and have breastfed without issue at home as well as in many European restaurant but I have not done so in the USA. Should I be able to breastfeed without issue while at dinner and if a problem does arise, does anyone have any tips on the best way to handle it?
