Budget question

I couldn't find this anywhere - but feel free to redirect me. I have a quote of 2980 for a 3 night (end of April) Port Canaveral cruise (2 over 10 and 1 under). Beyond what the site says, generally what other costs would I incur (I don't need info on things like tours or souvenirs - but like taxes, gratuities, transportation to the port)?

Gratuities are $14.50 per night per guest. I don’t know if they apply to the baby.

You can get Disney transport to/from Orlando airport ~$39 each way per person. Again, charge for baby?

Yes, the gratuities apply to every soul in the room. The baby requires as much work if not more for the stateroom host what with diapers and the pack and play, etc.

I believe that if you hold the baby in your lap there is no charge, but if you want to guarantee them their own seat you would need to pay.

Though reading back, the OP didn't say "baby" - they said 1 under 10. Not sure that means "baby" - just that the kid is under 10.

For a 3-night cruise for 3 guests, gratuities total $130.50. That will be auto-charged to your onboard account unless you prepay, but you can have it adjusted (+ or -) if you feel necessary.

Other than that you’ll need transportation to the port unless you are driving yourself, in which case there is parking costs (3-night cruise incurs 4 days of parking fees). Several options for transportation - DCL Transfers, Uber/Lyft, taxi, other shuttle service, car rental, limo service.

And I’d be sure to have cash for tipping porters at the port, skycaps at the airport, room-service onboard, port excursions. Extra charge for specialty or alcoholic beverages will be charged to your stateroom account.

Budget for any meals enroute pre- and post-cruise. We also fly in a day prior to embarkation so add a hotel night to the budget.

I think your kids are school-age so no charge for the Club/Lab or Edge onboard.

DLC transportation is now $45 a person one way now.

Taxes and port fees are in that price. If at any time they go down for some reason they well reimburse you . I think one time we got $16 back.

This still shows 39.00 per person.

Thanks for that catch. I guess I threw in info that wouldn’t be applicable - unless that 1 under is actually a lot under 10 yo.

I had to read it a few times myself and it's not 100% clear.

After the fact, I am suspecting the OP is used to the age 10 break point for theme parks kid v adult pricing.

@bsmcneil - Here are the ages for cruise pricing (Source: dclfan website).

”Teenagers will be Charged adult fares (13-17). Child rates apply to ages 3-12. Children ages 0-2 pay 50% of the child rate.”
Yep - this is what I meant.

Cost for DCL Transfers varies by port. I think $45 may be for Galveston. At Port Canaveral it is $39.
Sorry your right we just went out of Galveston a few weeks ago. It was $45. Just assumed it went up.

Some pay-for options onboard are alcohol, smoothies, tastings, Palo, tips for room service, picture packages.

Helpful to know! I think I have a good sense now (and I know there are activities one can book but felt so unused to this type of travel that I didn't know where to check for all the fine print, lol). Thank you all!
