We booked our package through a TA for the first time this year. I have always called to place my request. Does the TA have to do this, or can I?

Ive never used a TA so have no idea, but I assume if you have a reference number along with your name you'll be able to call and make requests. It's your trip after all.

Some travel agencies "own" the reservation until you check into the hotel

If yours does then the ta would be the one to call and modify the requests you have

Call your agent to find out who calls for ressie requests

I booked through a Travel Agent and just called the Royal Pacific on Friday with my confirmation number and made my request for my arrival on Wednesday.
