Can I use my AP discount to buy After Hours tickets for others?

I have some friends that are going to Orlando later this month and are interested in doing the After Hours event at Magic Kingdom. Can I buy the after hours tickets using my AP discount and assign it to them? They don't have MDE accounts, but they wouldn't have a problem making them.

Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but from past experience buying things with the AP discount means it has to be for AP holders. However, they did run a special that allowed you to purchase discounted tickets for others, but this may have been Florida residents?!? I'm sure the AP specialists will chime in, however, i know that from experience when mine had lapsed but my wifes had not, she was unable to purchase things for me that had to be ticketed as the discount didn't apply to me.

your best bet is just to call Disney and ask them your self but I think you can but like 2 or 3 tickets like the PP said it might have been an FL thing but I do remember them letting you buy 2 or 3 extra tickets.

I think the key word might be “extra”. The question reads to me as if the OP is not actually going to be there but just wants to buy the tickets for their friends. I am trying and failing to remember if I had to show my AP card when I checked in for MNSSHP last year...

We have attended the MK after hours the last couple of years. Our daughter and her family are annual passholders. She went into her account and ordered tickets for them and my husband and I, all getting her discount. We were pleasantly surprised.

I purchased discounted tickets for the magic kingdom after hours event for my son and his friend. I was not with them and they had zero issues using them.

To pp, you do not have to show your annual pass to use discounted party tickets. You must have the annual pass in order to purchase them, not use them.

Interested in this thread, so it seems if you have an AP you can purchase tickets to a hard ticket event for friends or family and not attend the event yourself.

How does it work with actually passing those tickets on.... I imagine its not a physical ticket? Can you assign tickets to someone else’s MDE account?

Just bumping this. Can my family member who has an AP purchase DAH tickets (with AP discount) and assign them to my MDE account for me to use?

I just purchased after hours tickets for myself and my nephew, they were emailed to me in .pdf form. They are also in my MDE and currently have the option to be reassigned to anyone in my friends & family list, AP holder or not.

If your profiles are connected, you can transfer the dah tickets freely. Until the morning of the event. You need to transfer them before then.

And to answer the original question, you can buy additional tickets with the discount. And freely assign to whoever you want (if connected to your MDE).

Quick update. We were able to purchase the tickets without too much trouble. Although adding 20 kids to MDE wasn't much fun. We got the purchase receipt and right in the email it said a pdf would be attached. It wasn't. Well isn't that fun. Called ticketing and they informed me that the pdf generator was not working currently so the purchasing party would need to show ID and pick up the tickets. Oops, that's a bit of an issue since I won't be in Orlando at the time. However, the CM went on to say that the person who provided the credit card could also pick up the tickets. Well that was a spot of luck, our friend had us use her credit card since it was easier than trying to move money around. They picked up the tickets without issue and had a great time.

Wait, they let you buy 20 (!) tickets & gave you the AP discount for all of them, and you weren’t even going?? Sorry, if that’s what happened, I don’t think that’s right. The discount is supposed to be a benefit for AP holders, not be used to get discounts for large groups who just happen to know someone with an AP. Really seems like just one more way to take advantage of a loophole. :sad2:

Disney makes the rules. We're not talking about a discount, not free tickets. I'm sure Disney applied the discount to whatever the ticket maximum
