Can we talk dessert party?

So if I'm reading this right, they didn't need an MK park reservation for the day. I'm just curious if I can park hop since that won't actually show a park reservation for MK.
Yes they didn’t need any reservations and hopefully it stays that way

We did the terrace party twice pre-Covid. We loved it and thought the views were great, but we were there to enjoy the fireworks and projections in real-time without fighting the crowds. We were slightly off to right and were not trying to get a great “recording/filming view. Its kind of nice to sit at a table and eat desserts while watching the show. Having said this, The prices have increased significantly, so i would have to really think about whether i would do the party under current prices. I might choose to spend the money in another experience. It is good to show up early to get the best table.

I booked myself a Seats and Treats Dessert party in mid-december. I'm just hoping that they don't give solo folks crappy seats.

Normally I'd do a before fireworks in the plaza but I worried about getting there on my scooter. The last Plaza Garden party I did I wasn't on a scooter but noticed that it would have been nearly impossible to get there with the crowds and no help from the cast members escorting the group there.

I'm still not sure if I will be keeping the reservation. But I don't want to have to hang out for 2 hours on a regular spot either and I want to see Enchantment that trip.

This is interesting. I looked on the calendar to see if I could switch it to a garden plaza and it's not showing as bookable. Then I looked at my reservation and while it's still there it says it's temporarily unavailable. Wonder if it's yet another glitch or they've removed dessert parties from that night or it's 100% sold out. Either way - I guess I'll find out.......
I had a scooter on 10/5 and booked the Plaza Garden, planning to leave my scooter parked up at Tomorrowland Terrace, which I did. When I got to the Plaza Garden it was so empty I sent my (grown) daughter back to TT to grab my scooter and bring it in. In hindsight, I probably should have just left it at TT and walked over and grabbed it after the show. Getting out of the hub on a scooter after fireworks is horrid, as I'm sure you know. It cleared out decently after about 15 min.

Hi,

So question about something on the website for the parties when you check for availability It says the following:
Separate Valid Admission and Park Reservation for Same Park on Same Date Required

I'm thinking of doing HS in the AM the day I'm looking to do the dessert party, then taking a break and hopping to MK for dinner and the fireworks. Do I need the park reservation for MK that day if I'm hopping? Cause it almost sounds like that from that little note.
You should be fine. On 10/5, one of my party only had a Boo Bash ticket. He was able to get into the park on his Boo Bash ticket and go to the Dessert Party.

A quick question to the experts: does it make sense to book the after party on an evening with extended evening hours (from 9pm-11pm)?

We did the dessert party last night and loved it! We were a night with only pre party but I suspect on those nights they book more for the pre party, I could be wrong though. If you hang out in the back half off the viewing area it’s not as dense, we had plenty of room around us and had a great view.

No. you're cutting into your after hours time, unless you're booking it just for the view and only eating treats for 20 mins. Other than SDMT, everything will be a walk on after 9 pm. After 30 mins SDMT wait will also go down. Its so exhausting to stay until 11 pm, but it depends on whose in your party.

Thanks for the reply :) That makes absolute sense. I am booking it mostly for the view and for not being in the crowded hub area. 20 min would be enough time to get a sugar rush to last through the extended evening hours ;) at least that’s what I am telling myself. I also appreciate your feedback on the wait times :flower3: It’s been quite challenging planning this December trip with all the changes.

You’re welcome. We leave in a few days. It’s been really hard for everyone. We’re all trying to help each other out on this board.

New to the dessert parties here - in the old days we'd use a FP for a preferred viewing area....

Is the Tomorrowland Terrace pre-party (what we booked)* the same thing as "treats and seats" (doesn't say treats and seats in our reservation)? Do you watch from TT or from the Plaza viewing area?

*what it says in "my plans"
Magic Kingdom 50th Fireworks Dessert Parties: Disney Enchantment Pre-Party
Magic Kingdom ParkTomorrowlandTomorrowland Terrace Restaurant - Temporarily Unavailable

**after lots of clicking around on the website, I think the "pre-party" is "escorted to standing view area in Plaza Garden, while "treats and seats" is viewing from TT? But it's not clear from the website at all (big surprise).

And it says 6:30pm as the time of the reservation, with fireworks at 8 - does that mean 6;30 is the latest or earliest time we can check in?
(Also does it make sense to have dinner before this? We have young kids so they'll be ready for bed after the fireworks)

Thanks!

We have a 6:15 pm BOG dinner and an after party which lists checkin at 7 pm. we will probably checkin at 7:30 pm; we’ve done dinner in an hour at BOG before. We don’t want too many sweets.

No, those are 2 different parties. Treats and seats is all at Tomorrowland Terrace. You sit at a table for food and stay there for the fireworks.
The before and after parties are held in TT for the food part and you watch fireworks from the plaza garden (no actual seats).

We did the pre party last night. The fireworks viewing area was great, with p!enty of room. We were some of the last people in the viewing area at about 7:40 and we had no problem finding a spot. It was a Boo Bash night, so there was no post party. It might be kind of crowded on a night with booth parties.

I was disappointed in the dessert selections. Took one of everything to start and the only seconds we had were the chocolate covered strawberries. Honestly, it seemed like a dessert buffet at a nursing home. The desserts were mostly just variations of pudding. All extremely sweet. One line had cheese, but no crackers. The other line had crackers, but ran out of them. I'm glad we bought some popcorn to bring with us beforehand.

The beer offerings were laughable...Bud Light and Blue Moon. I'm not sure what the wine selections were, but there was a sparkling wine that was a good contrast to all the sweetness.

We got there shortly after 6:00 and were seated right away and there was no line for the buffet. By 6:30, there was a decent line for desserts for the rest of the night, but it seems they kept everything fully stocked (except the crackers, lol). It felt very congested, but that could be because we were at the the table right on the corner were everyone was lined up. So not only did we have people standing right next to our table through the whole party, people were constantly walking on the opposite side of our table or squeezing in between our table and the line to get to their seats.

We wouldn't do this party again. I never thought I could leave an unlimited dessert party still hungry. We knew the party was mostly about the viewing area, but felt like there was no thought or effort but into the desserts at all. We enjoyed ourselves, but expected more for the cost.

We have multiple food allergies and diabetes in the family so I filled a special diet form and submitted it today. No one drinks alcohol so it’s even less of a value. I wish they would just make a reserved area LLIA$

do you think the dining with the party so close is a waste since you’ll be full for diner? BOG comes with a desert too no?

We are not doing the party for the desserts. We don’t like the desserts at BoG and the after party will be 2 hours away. We have an infant and toddler who are not vaccinated and want to see the fireworks with some space around us.

Were people in the back able to sit? We for sure won’t be up near the fence area and are looking more for space vs view. Someone had mentioned kids were playing tag in the area, which would be great (some space between people).

Do you know how late we can check in?

Also, how crowded was the hub? Was it shoulder to shoulder everywhere?

We did this last week. We scooted out of the garden and over to the Terrace immediately after the show ended, and had plenty of time to eat a few desserts and have a glass of wine, and be back into the rides at 9.
