Welcome to my new TR which like the title suggests is not Disney related(I asked to post) but still was a great trip.

I will start writing tomorrow but just wanted to start it. I do hope you follow along and hope you enjoy the pics. I can tell you we went to. I will introduce the cast as it goes along.

Travel day was upon us. Five of us were traveling together to the airport so Jeff picked us up and brought us over to his place so we could wait for the cab to come. At 3pm the car came and we were on our way. They sent a minivan with lots of room for bags and for us (this may not be the case coming home).

Along the way we passed the skyline of NYC. It was taken from a moving car so this was the best I could get.

Soon enough we were at the airport and then we passed through security and soon looking for a place to eat. We found a place to sit and order food and drinks. We got there before Donna & Mark but they soon joined us.

I cannot remember what I had. I think I enjoyed it but just cannot remember. LOl.

After eating we made our way to the gate and waited. We boarded our flight and soon were on our way. Here is our chariot.

The next pics are just maps and such during the flight. Feel free to skip.

Here we are waiting to take off. Before our flight AlItalia moved us to the back of the plane and I was annoyed but it actually was fine. Vinny (hubby) is on the left and I am on the right.

Here is a pic I posted on Facebook. The extra seat belt. Used to be a time when I had to use an extender and now I do not. I was so excited and am so happy.

Here is the plane we were on.

Then they brought around some snack.

They were not bad. An hour later they brought around our meals. I think I am the only one who enjoyed this. Mine was fresh and hot (maybe because we were 3 rows from the back) but almost all the others said it was terrible. Vinny had the chicken.

Then time passed and soon the sun was starting to come up.

Here is a check as to where we were.

Now the sun was really starting to come out.

Next up we had a snack. It was about 3 - 4 hours after the meal.

Let’s look at the map and see where we are. Looks like we were passing the Swiss Alps maybe.

I like the way the following pic looks.

Now the thing I found the coolest on AlItalia was they had a live cam you can watch from your seat of take off and landing. Here are a few pics of the images.

After we landed here is a pic from the camera.

Then we went to the gate and we went to customs and the potty. Along the way we saw this.

Customs was not bad and soon we were on our way. We went and took the train into the city. The train ride was about 45 minutes. I think I will stop here now. I took a lot of photos and videos.

I have never flown Alitalia, but that is mainly, because we like to fly out of our tiny home airport and only Lufthansa does that.
But your experience on the flight looks good. I remember the "pilot cam" from Lufthansa - they used to have that too.
Can't wait to see your first hotel and how you liked Milano!

Last we left off we were getting onto a train to head into Milan. The ride was good and it went by fast I thought. Here is a shot of the scenery. LOL.

Soon enough we were at the train station in Milan and we made our way outside. Now I will say this about the trains in Italy, they need luggage cars. Trying to find a place for your bag is a joke but we managed. We gathered together and made our way out of the station and soon we were faced with the challenge of finding the hotel. I had no cell service at this time so we looked around and then Mark went to ask someone but at the same time I got service and turned on the gps. The hotel was really close and soon enough we were there. Less than a 5 minute walk.

Our rooms were ready and we all went upstairs to see them (pics come later on). After a little bit we met downstairs and someone asked the front desk for a recommendation and we got one and soon we were off. Mark led the way and let’s say it was not right. LOl. I then used my gps on my phone and we were there finally. Here are pics of the walk over. A tunnel we walked through.

They had cute streetcars.

They have Best Westerns in Milan. LOL. Looks like something was happening at the church.

The name of the place was Il Tavolino. Here is their link on Tripadvisor.

I took two photos here and one I cannot post as I promised no profile pics. LOL. Barbara and Lorraine looking over the menu.

I ordered the margherita pizza and it was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! I believe everyone enjoyed what they had here. if you are in Milan I would highly recommend this place. I did not always remember to take foods pics but their will be some later on.

After our first meal in Italy we were tired (I did have a 3 hour nap) and we had a very early morning the next day so we went back to the hotel. We passed this store and I thought it was a good idea. Drop in for a shot. LOL.

Then we saw a tram car go by.

Next we saw bikes you can rent just like here in NYC.

I thought this next building was cute.

Then I turned around and saw everyone. The cast goes as this, Barbara is taking a photo then Vinny is on the left and next to him is Donna and then Lorraine with Mark in the back in green and then Jeffrey.

Then we were by the train station.

Then a streetcar was passing us.

They had a little construction going on in the city.

Then when we got to the side of the train station they had tents up selling things. I thought the tents were cute.

And to finish off the day here is the time.

And with that our night was done. We had to get up really early the next morning and we were tired from the flight even though we had taken naps. I will stop here and coming up next,
