(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS Information Thread ~2012~

Their main items are available until 11:30 PM and after that you can only order from their various appetizers. That was according to the Boardwalk information channel when I was there in December 2011 once they listed all the Boardwalk restaurants and specifc information about them, like their hours and etc.

Ok, thanks. If we have to survive on appetizers, I think we could. I guess we'll weigh that against the late-night room service menu when we get there. Maybe we'll be more tired than hungry and won't even want to eat anyway.

Honestly their Chicken Wings are very good and filling, so those would be a great appetizer if you had to order them and I sometimes order them as my main meal. Another example of a filling appetizers is their Macho Nachos For Two and their Clam Chowder Soup.

That all sounds so yummy right now. We are hoping to have stop and watch the Final Four on Saturday and have appetizers.

Plan to get there well ahead of game time or be prepared to wait an hour or more for a table. ESPN gets very, VERY crowded for big sports events and Saturday is indeed a biggie.

No matter what sporting events are happening I would say they are always be busy on Saturday nights.

For example this past September I happened to be at the Boardwalk during the 1st day of the NCAA College Football season and there was lineups from the afternoon well until the evening. Plus that same night LSU was playing Oregon that I remember seeing a lot of LSU fans.

Then this past December I went there to watch a Hockey game which I was able to see, although they were once again busy because it was a Saturday. However the only major game happening was the Dallas Cowboys vs the Tampa Bay Buccanners.

We arrived yesterday around 5ish and were met at the door and escorted to the 4th floor. We scored a great room!!!! We'd requested a king (got it!!!) and it's directly opposite the lounge (HOORAY!! This is our relaxing, just the 2 of us trip.
Hi kathie859! Hope you are having fun. I had the same room just under a month ago. It was perfect for us... just DH and I also for our trip. Enjoy your trip and tell us all about it.

KOOK: Anxiously awaiting your arrival! :cool1: Maybe I will see you Thursday at MK. :goodvibes

So I am going back AGAIN and staying at a MK resort (TBD tonight) for one night Thursday night with mom and DH. It will be her early Bday present as the weather is supposed to be gorgeous and June is getting too hot for her nowadays. Wish it was BWI... but mom is a MK view girl. Leaning toward CR for her. Let me go see what is available. :surfweb:

Linda sounds like a wonderful Birthday present... CR :cloud9: I so get about having to pick your dates to avoid the heat, I can not do the warmer months either :sad1:

Where are the BW peeps......KOOK 2 days :cool1::cool1:

shameless bump to get thread back to pg.1.....
Love the shameless bump and countdown:thumbsup2. I got all the yard work done yesterday and spiffied-up the KOOKmobile:car: which is eagerly awaiting our luggage.

I'm here!
kook have a wonderful trip! Can't wait to hear about your vacation! :thumbsup2
Thanks, GG:goodvibes

I'm here, too. Hi to all the Boardwalk peeps! :goodvibes

WDWKOOK, it won't be long at all until you hear, "Welcome Home!":cheer2: Have a wonderful stay! :cool1:
That will be nice to hear, gwynne:). Thanks for the well wishes!

I am here and waiting for Kook to arrive at the BWI so we can hear her live trip report.
It won't be long now. My ticker's off a day since we added a day so we'll be arriving (hopefully) around appetizer time tomorrow.

I'm here also. We are under the 1 month mark officially.:thumbsup2
Yeah, it's official! Under one month:)
We arrived yesterday around 5ish and were met at the door and escorted to the 4th floor. We scored a great room!!!! We'd requested a king (got it!!!) and it's directly opposite the lounge (HOORAY!! Last trip we were relegated to the 3rd floor and it was a hike to the lounge).

CL CM's have been as gracious as ever and I went to the quiet pool for the first time (why have I not done this before??) after visiting EPCOT this morning to take a few photos of the topiaries and floral displays. This evening we're going over to the MK for a few hours.

This is our relaxing, just the 2 of us trip. EPCOT crowds seem medium---Not nearly summer level let alone Christmas week levels. I'm interested to see the MK crowds tonight and tomorrow at DHS.

The only thing I'm bummed about is the week we're coming back in October with DD, DSIL and the grands is not available on the bounce back offer. Here's hoping for a PIN or AP rate!!:wizard:
I think they'll be an AP or general public rate for your dates - fingers crossed. So glad to hear that so far your trip is going great. Maybe we'll see each other in the lounge if you're still there. I might have an Orange Bird pin on at some point.

Not sure if that is good or bad for us that the crowd levels don't seem to bad right now. We check in around 12pm on Thursday and will be at EPCOT Friday night. SO EXCITED:banana: The anticipation of staying at the BWI for the first time is killing me (I've only stayed once at the BWV for my anniversary in Nov 2011). I called BWI and requested a courtyard view (since we are standard level). Crossing my fingers we get it and not a parking lot view.
I do hope you get your request. the Courtyard/Garden Views are lovely and you can even see some of Illuminations from the upper floors. Ask at check-in if it's a CV room you've been assigned, and if it isn't, ask if there might be one available.

See you Friday or over the weekend:)

I am here too. So excited for everyone who has a trip coming up soon. When was KOOK leaving? Maybe she has been busy packing.
KOOK is leaving tomorrow and hopefully arriving between 5 and 6. It's going to be a loooooooong day, but I know that as soon as we see the Welcome to the Boardwalk sign and pull-up to the porte-cochère, we'll feel revived and excited:yay:

Blimey! We don't arrive until Thursday evening and the only park we might go to is Epcot, and that's only if we're not feeling like zombies after driving almost 14 hours:crazy:

When staying in standard CL, can one request a room near the lounge? We will have 4 kids (1 under 3), and are looking for the best spot for us :)
Thanks!

I've been reading a lot about how loud it can be if we have a room with Boardwalk View. Is it that bad? We're used to a bit of noise at home since we live on a major street. Also, we don't usually go to bed before 10pm. We had a view of the lake when we had a waterview YC room, which we loved, but we also loved seeing Illuminations from there, too. Maybe we'd be better off asking for a courtyard view that might have a view of Illuminations? Either way, we'd like to be close to the lounge, so I wonder if that changes our viewing options.

CR Resort Fan 4 Life I noticed you mentioned earlier that you always request Boardwalk View. What do you enjoy about it?

That's right. Forgot. We'll be there Friday breakfast at the CR, too...:rolleyes1 No worries, I just always like to extend the offer. :hippie: Don't forget the Cubans & #1 Dad T-shirt for your Del Boca Vista visit. And I hope you have a Magical trip!!! Wishes that you LOVE the Innkeeper's Club!

We did not find our BWI CL BV room to be noisy at all. We were located across from CL lounge in front of Boardwalk Joe's. The beautiful view and watching the activity on the Boardwalk is the big draw for us. That said, I could definitely see how Villa rooms down by the clubs may possibly be noisier judging from what I heard and saw while sitting out on the balcony late at night. Not having stayed at BWV I can't say that for sure though.

When staying in standard CL, can one request a room near the lounge? We will have 4 kids (1 under 3), and are looking for the best spot for us :)

Yes, you certainly can. I like to think they try hard to accommodate requests. Mention it in your email to CL IPO. :thumbsup2

We are booked for Dec 18-27 and I am just curious about the busses. I was just reading another thread and everyone complained about BW being the 5th stop and it was impossible to get on a bus at busy times :scared1:

Obviously, we wont need a bus for Epcot or HS...but how are the busses these days for MK, AK and DTD?

Thanks so much :thumbsup2

Honestly in my opinion the view is not noisy at all. In fact I would say the rooms with a Boardwalk/Crescent Lake view are less noisy then a room at the Contemporary Tower I had which was over Chef Mickey's. Plus their view can't be any different then a Lagoon View at the Yacht Club or Beach Club, because you will still hear the Boat horns at both locations.

As for what I enjoy about it I would say it's going out onto the balcony soaking in all the atmosphere and people watching.

The two times I stayed in a Standard Club Level Room I was in room #4223 which was very close to the lounge. However it's harder to request specifc room numbers because chances are someone could be staying in it when you arrive, so that's something to keep in mind. Basically I would request as close to the lounge as possible and not requesting a specifc room.

The Bus to the Magic Kingdom only shares with the Swan & Dolphin. So the pick up/drop off order is as follows. #1 Boardwalk, #2 Swan, #3 Dolphin and #4 Magic Kingdom. That means when coming back from there the Boardwalk is the 1st stop.

However their Buses to the Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach and Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon the Boardwalk is 5th and last stop since it will have already been to the Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club & Beach Club.

CR Resort Fan 4 Life I noticed you mentioned earlier that you always request Boardwalk View. What do you enjoy about it?

On our first DVC trip, we were awakened a couple of nights at 2 am. Our room was above Crest O' The Wave and people leaving one of the bars were making a lot of noise. I guess they either checked out or did not go out the rest of the nights we were there. It's pretty much a matter of luck. The view is great but there could be a trade off.

Well, last night I explained my dilemma to DH, and he said he'd rather have a view of the water than a potential view of Illuminations, so we are going to take our chances on the noise factor and request a Boardwalk View room close to the lounge.

Thanks so much for the info! We are traveling with 4 kids and a double stroller, so I just want to be prepared as possible.

Is the order you gave Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, BW the way they PU for AK & DD? Just wondering if it could be easier to walk over to the 1st PU location when going to those particular places if needed.

We are home (or here:wizard:). I am so happy we got the courtyard view and are close to the lobby. We are in 2270. It is so peaceful in the courtyard right now. Just trying to relax and take it all in.
