Welcome to my trip report!

Without further ado…let’s begin!

June 19, 2022

We were set to take a 5:30 am flight out of Philly this morning. We woke at 1:15 to leave the house by 2 am but I had received a text stating that our flight has been delayed for 6.5 hours!! Now it was set to leave at 12 noon. We ended up going back to bed and getting up later.

We left the house at about 8 am and had to pick up the two Alex’s before hitting the road. We live about an hour outside Philly. The drive in was good, no traffic and we got through TSA fairly quickly.

We were loaded at about 12 noon and ended up sitting on the plane until about 1:00 before we hit the runway to take off.

We landed at 3:33pm and I was getting a little anxious about our 6 PM reservation for Splitzville. We waited for our luggage…and waited….and waited.

This was a photo of baggage claim. At this point, there were 4 flights waiting for their bags. We finally received ours a little after 5 PM and then off to Pop Century we went. I had phoned Splitzville already and pushed back our reservation to 7:30.

June 19, 2022 (cont’d)

We dropped our luggage at the hotel, hopped a bus for Disney Springs and were quickly given our lane to bowl.

But first, a fit check:

We were led upstairs to bowling lane 14. Our plan for this evening was to bowl and order food. Which you are able to do both or you can just reserve a table for dining.

We ordered the nachos, which I neglected to take a photo of but they were chicken nachos and soooo very good! We also ordered a meat lover’s pizza and California Roll for Savannah since she is meatless.

Both were very good! We were only able to bowl one game since there were 8 of us on a lane and only had an hour and forty five minutes but we were all very exhausted from travel and decided to head back to the hotel and hit the hay. But not without doing a little shopping first!

I have a little obsession with ears! I ended up with two pair. I love them both!!!

We grabbed a bus back to Pop and hit the hay. Next up….Magic Kingdom!​

June 20, 2022

Today was out MK day. I woke up at 6:15 am, showered and ready to hop online. My goal was to get a Jungle Cruise LL.

Fit check:

I was able to get JC for 9:05 for all eight of us. We had Skipper Meg and she was great! A lot of dry humor and she could deadpan like nobody’s business. Lol!

Next we decided to hit POTC. It was posted as a 50 minute wait but it was literally something like 12!

06/20/22 Cont’d MK Day

​

While in line at JC after scanning our bands, I looked to see what we could do next with LL, we decided on IASW! This one is a favorite of all the ladies but the men grumbled a little.

Next up! Ice cream!! It was so hot and we were all melting and needed a quick pick me up! We hit up Storybook Treats and I have to say that the cranberry vanilla twist was soooo good!!

Next up…we needed AC…so where did we go?​

Magic Kingdom in search of AC

Where did we end up?

The Hall of Presidents. Hubby loves this attraction, I could take it or leave it but it is nice to sit and cool off for a while. We were prepared for comments from the peanut gallery when the presidents were being introduced but everyone in the theater were on their best behavior. DD’s fiancé really enjoyed this one!

Next up..more AC! The Country Bears! This is one of my favorites because I remember it from when I was a child.

We were headed on our way to Columbia Harbour House and did a mobile order. DH and I love this quick service and we introduced it to the rest of the family. I did not take any food photos probably because I was famished but on the way over, we came across this cavalcade.

My oldest daughter was so very excited to see Pluto! She was waving and started tearing up. Pluto spotted her and waved and motioned to make a heart. Which just made my daughter cry more! She has a special place for Pluto. Back story: when she was 4, we took her to Disney for the first time for her birthday. We had also bought her a puppy which she named Pluto. Pluto has since passed but she associates her Pluto to Disney Pluto and it just makes her emotional.

Magic Kingdom

After we finished with lunch, we hit up one of my ride picks! Splash Mountain! I am not one to ride the wet rides normally because I hate being wet and having to walk around the parks but I was able to snag a genie+ for all of us and I just HAD to ride this one before it got changed over to Tiana. I am so glad that I did it! And everyone loved it!

Next up was Buzz LY. I rode with my nephew, I won of course. We were stuck for a few minutes in one spot and I had wracked up quite a few points. We had waited in line for this one for a long time and my family did not feel it was worth it

After such a long wait in the heat. We needed some more AC! This is a favorite of all of us and I just hope that they never change it! COP!

Next up, we were in need of some giggles. We did not get picked as “that guy” but it was fun!

We headed over to HM. I was so very much looking forward to this ride. Whenever anyone asks me what my favorite ride at WDW is, this is the first that comes to mind!

Finally, it was time for dinner! We chose Tony’s for this evening. I know a lot of people do not like it there but we have always enjoyed it. This evening was no different! We loved it and will definitely go back. It was actually one of the only restaurants that everyone in the family had agreed upon.

I had the children’s spaghetti with fruit and cupcake. I can tell you that it was a lot of food and I did not finish it but tried everything.

We were going to stay to catch the nighttime show and had a little time to spare, we were in the area and decided to go meet Mickey!

As soon as the fireworks were done, we booked it out of the park and only waited a few minutes to catch a bus back to Pop.

This was a very long day and we were all exhausted!

Sounds like a great start so far...minus the flight delay. Following along for more. On a side note, when people ask me my favorite MK ride, haunted mansion is at the top of the list. I also love Splash mountain.

I am so sad that they are changing splash. My old favorite was The Great Movie Ride. I just loved it so very much.

June 21, 2022

I started off my day by waking early, I think that I woke around 6:00 am and decided to wonder around the resort for a bit until my 7:00 window. Today was our Epcot day and we were really looking forward to GOTG and FEA.

I snagged us an ILL for Guardians (I cannot remember for what time) and I was able to get a LL for FEA. My oldest was so happy because she had never ridden FEA and she is a huge fan.

Fit check:

I let the kids sleep in a little, than we headed to the counter service for breakfast at the resort. We really enjoyed staying at Pop. We loved having skyliner access and we do not mind the counter service restaurant. Our last night, we hit a bit of a snag but more on that later in the report.

We got in line for the skyliner and even though there was a long line, it moved pretty quickly.

On our way in, I took a couple of pics of the greenery and topiaries.Epcot is beautiful this time of year!

Our first ride was SE. This is a favorite of hubby’s and we ended up doing it twice on this trip.

EPCOT

Next up was GOTG. Now, I am not a huge roller coaster fan. I can do them but I get a little nauseous on certain rides. I was really nervous for this one though from hearing horror stories about people getting sick. I had to try it at least once. I did not get nauseous but did need to take a few minutes to collect myself after getting off. This ride is awesome! But also chaotic. We got “Everybody wants to rule the world” Which my oldest DD said was the best song to get. I did love it! The ride was thrilling but I am not sure that I would need to ride it again. Hubby agreed which is saying something. He is a thrill ride junkie!

My youngest had decided to sit this one out, she does get motion sick and I agreed that would be a great idea.
Next we headed to FEA! I had been on this ride before and I can admit that it is really adorable. My daughter loved it and so did her fiancé.

Next up was Remy’s. I was able to snag us a LL and I can tell you that this ride made me more nauseous than GOTG. It was cute but I do not think that I would ride it again.

EPCOT

By this time, our lunch reservation was soon to arrive. We had a really hard time securing reservations so we had to go with what I could get. Today we were eating at Tepan at 2:40pm. Late lunch/early dinner.

We had a little time before we needed to check in so we decided to shop around Japan. I love this store! You can always find some really unique items.

We checked in and were joined by a lovely family that actually doesn’t live very far from us. We had fun chatting with them about all things Disney and home related.

After dinner/late lunch. The kids decided that they were done for the day. This Mama was not happy. My goal was to get all the rides done today so that when we came back on Friday, we could venture around WS and hit some of the food booths. But, I was outvoted So we caught the skyliner back to Pop. We changed into bathing suits and hit the pool. I ordered two pizzas which we took out and ate poolside. We were all exhausted and it was only Tuesday!

We ended up in bed early because tomorrow was HS and we knew it was going to be a long day!​

I was up bright and early again today. (Do you see a pattern here?) We purchased an ILL for Rise since we had never been on before and it was the one ride that hubby REALLY wanted. I also got an LL for TSM. We were meeting up with BIL, SIL and my nephew again today. They ventured to Universal the day before.

Fit check:

The first thing we did was hit up Woody’s Lunchbox. We really wanted to try the Lunch Box Tarts. We ended up getting 2 and sharing them. The chocolate hazelnut & the raspberry. These are massive and we had zero problem sharing them with each other. Both were good but my favorite was the raspberry. They remind you of a regular pop tart but just dryer, if that makes sense. I would definitely get one again. We also had the grown ups lemonade which was really good and I think we had totcho’s too! I do not have the pics, I think my daughter took all of those.

Our first ride of the day was Star Tours. This is another fun one for us. DD’s fiancé was excited for this. He was most excited to see Galaxy’s Edge today!

DD’s fiancé insisted that he take this picture of me since I was wearing my Wookiee ears and that was the Wookiee house.

Next up was our favorite cast of characters…the muppets! Hubby and I can NEVER get enough of the muppets. I think it takes us back to our youth and watching them on TV but this is always a must-do for us and it did not disappoint. But first, I needed to catch some balloons!

We headed back over to TSL and hit up another favorite. TSM! I was with my nephew and of course, not to brag but I won! Lol He tried so hard too.

Next up was ROTR. This would be our first time and we were so very excited! I watched videos on the ride and thought that I knew what to expect but in person, I was in awe! I feel like I will need to ride a few more times before I will be able to take in everything.

We wandered around Galaxy’s Edge for a while just taking everything in. I promised DD’s fiancé that he would have plenty of time to explore. We stopped for a quick snack of Cold Brew Black Coffee (cocoa puff milk) and popcorn.

We wandered out of GE, we had a dinner reservation at 4:00, but first, we headed towards the Frozen Sing Along!

While we were in the area, we went to One Man’s Dream. The kids actually really loved this little spot. They liked reading about the history.

It was time for our dinner reservation and we really tried for Sci Fi but no dice..our next favorite is Prime Time which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter was fun but not over the top..so the experience was enjoyable all around.

I enjoyed the kid’s meal of beef barbecue, Mac and cheese and a cupcake. I ended up giving the cupcake to my nephew. He said it was really good!

By this point, hubby and my youngest were getting tired. I knew it was only a matter of time before they folded. We stood in line to meet Goofy, stopped at the Chase Card photo spot and did some shopping. We also stopped for some PP pics which I will put it the next post.
My oldest and her Fiancé wanted to stay. We had an Oga’s reservation for 8:30 and they were super excited for it. We met back up with the in laws and did a few rides together. M&MRR, TSM (I won again), Frozen sing along and RNRC.

TOT was down and we never got on it. But isn’t she pretty? We bid farewell to the in laws and headed toward GE. Oga’s is a fun place. Our server was fantastic! He was full of jokes and very personable. I just wished hubby would have been there to see it. I know he would have loved it too!

We only had one drink each and headed out. We just wanted the experience. The best part was coming out of Oga’s into a dark GE. This area is awesome at night!

We waited in line for the skyliner, got back to the hotel and hit the hay. This was another very long day!​
