Is the Character meet and greet happening again for concierge guests? We are sailing Dream in Feb 2023. We had it before COVID, took a cruise in November 2021 and it was not there (understandably), but wondering if it is back now? Our girls just love it!

They didn’t have it on the Wish…neither in August nor in December. I did enjoy those!

Thanks for the fast reply. I will figure it won't happen. I would love for it to come back, but part of me is ok with that because it always seemed to conflict with other plans that had to get moved around since you never knew when it was until you were on the ship.

I was on the Dream last month in concierge and they did not have it on our cruise.

We did the Alaska cruise in August and they had Mickey and Minnie out for concierge guests on Dawe Glacier day. The host took us to a viewing area on deck 7 forward and Mickey & Minnie in Alaskan outfits were there to take a picture with the concierge guests.

We are sailing on our first concierge cruise next month and we asked about the character meet and greet when we were going over our requests. It sound like they will not be bringing it back. They acted like it wasn’t a thing and that a character may walk through the lounge at some point.

Just off the Wish, I was bummed there was no character meet and greet. Concierge hosts said they keep pushing for them to bring it back since it was such a nice perk but no plans to do so for now. I guess it’s because there are so many more concierge rooms?

If you took an excursion on that day to see the glacier up closer. Was it better to take the first or second one? Did Mickey and Minnie come out during both times?

We didn't take the excursion so I'm sorry I can't answer the question.

As for the M&G with Mickey and Minnie, we were told to be ready at the Concierge Lounge before 1pm. I believe that's the time they expected to reach & stop at the glacier. Then, we were escorted down to the officers deck on deck 7, right under the bridge & the fitness. There were some treats, hot chocolate, and blankets. At around 1:30pm, Mickey and Minnie showed up and took some pictures with the concierge guests. They were there for about 20 minutes and left after everyone got a round or two of photo op with them. I'm pretty sure that's the only time they came out. So it might help if you know the assemble times for the excursion. If it's before 1pm or before they expect to get the closest to the glacier, it's most likely you'll miss the characters M&G.

so everyone in concierge on the others ships start complaining. If enough complain they will reinstate it. They supposedly took it away because of covid and f rankly you pay enough for concierge you should get the perk. we did one cruise on the magic before the shutdown and they had the reception in the pub instead of the lounge. We got to meet the new captain minnie. this is like no more buffet for brunch in palo. I have said that eventhough I get a free brunch, I don't want to go without the buffet. It's again charge more for less

the problem with this is that it has always been an unadvertised surprise perk.
Just like the pirate buffet that silently disappeared.. and the meet and greet that disappeared from the castaway club reception on the long cruises.

And to be quite frankly the concierge meet and greet was not any better than what you get on the public meet and greets on the ship (with exception of the Alaska cruises)

i have done concierge five times and the hosts always let us know about the meet and greet on the first day of the cruise. and of course the repeat cruisers were exited about it. It meant you didn't have to wait in line and at least for my family, we got extra time to interact with the character. We have had captain minnie as well as goofy a couple of times and donald and daisy.

We were on the August 1 sailing on the Wonder. We did the first glacier excursion and had no idea about the character interaction until I read the post here. The concierge hosts were phenomenal so I’m guessing that our time conflicted🤷🏼‍♀️

I meant surprise perk as in a thing they would offer additionally to the advertised perks of concierge. You dont physically wait in line but you wait in a chair but you re still waiting. It would be way more disappointing if it were an exclusive meet (something not available in public; a special character, a special outfit or a groupphoto. Thats why the Alaska Minnie/mickey duo on glacierday was indeed a very special not to miss perk while the other meets not as much
