Concierge Questions

  • For those of you who have cruised concierge did you find non-concierge cruises as enjoyable afterwards?
  • Do you think that the concierge perks are better for those with younger kids than older kids/teens?
  • What is the earliest that Concierge guests typically get to board? (specifically wondering in San Diego port)
  • If you board early on Concierge can you leave your carry on luggage with them if your room is not ready yet?
  • Is it true to Concierge guests get prime seating for the shows and fireworks?

Thank you!

1. Once we started cruising concierge, I dont think we have ever cruised non concierge. We like the Cabanas at CC and concierge has a much higher chance of getting one.
2. Our daughter is 9 now and she has been cruising since she was 1 and I think she has enjoyed concierge at every age. I am sure when she is a teenager, it will be no different (she is very bougie)
3. we were just on a cruise out of Cape Canaveral and we boarded at 11:15
4. You can leave it with the concierge team but our room has always been ready when we got on board so we take our carry on straight to our room.
5. Not sure about fire works but the hosts will escort you to the theater about 15 min before it opens to the general public for early seat selection. This is so nice now that I dont have to line up outside the theater 30 min before the show so our DD can be in the first couple of rows.

We have cruised both and do not have a problem going from concierge to non- concierge rooms. I think service is great both ways! We are sailing concierge in a week and did not get a cabana so do not count on that as a reason to sail concierge.
I think concierge is great for all ages. I wouldn’t see a benefit for younger children unless you are wanting a larger room but you could always get two connecting rooms as well that aren’t concierge for more space.
Concierge can board anytime. You can board with group 1 if you would like or whenever you arrive.
Yes, you can leave your bags with concierge.
I don’t know about fireworks viewing or shows because we never go early. We have not had problems finding seats in the theater but I do always stop by the lounge for popcorn to bring along :)
Have a great trip!

I think not having to wait in as many lines is an underrated benefit if you have small children.

For fireworks, my experience is they had a special section roped off on an upper deck for concierge to watch the fireworks, so we had lots of space. However, it did not (on the Fantasy at least) have a view of the Pirate party, so if that's important to you, then the concierge fireworks viewing might not be as useful.

Depending on which ship you're thinking, an older teen might be happy to have access to the concierge sun deck with a hot tub. The older kids I've seen in concierge have also been more excited about the lounge food than my small children.

tl;dr I think kids of different ages get somewhat different benefit out of concierge but there's benefit for both
