Current photo of Castle while being refurbished

It doesn't look very 'diamond overlay-ey' to me ...

Comparing these two photos, I'm pretty sure the castle is the exact same color. The only real difference is camera type and sun placement. They might have done other work though that we didn't see. I know there was a broken window that needed to be replaced at the front of the castle

As stated multiple times in this thread, the diamond overlay won't go up until closer to the 60th. At least, that's how things went for the 50th so it's a fair assumption.

Last week they were working on it and you could hear power tools and see lots of material being passed around through the solid scrims on the PFF side. I think the work was structural. Maybe to support the diamond overlay or maybe it really just needed some work done internally.

I can't figure out how to upload pics. It won't let me upload them directly from my computer because it said the files were too large and the websites it directed me to go to like dailymotion seem to only accept video uploads. Any EASY way to just upload a few pics here without joining some other website?

You can try resizing them first. I use the photo editing site, picmonkey. You don't have to sign up for it

I haven't posted since the boards changed, so hopefully this works out ok. Here is a crop of a picture I took a few days ago.

The gold details are more subdued. The spire one of the purple arrows is pointing to appears to be the same shade of gold as the other details were before, so you can see from the other purple arrow that the shade is very different now. The green arrow is also pointing to a section painted silver that used to be gold.

Here is a composite. The image on the left is from a few days ago, the image on the right is from February 2014. They were taken at different angles, so they don't line up, but it gives you an idea of the difference.
