DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Survived the first night. The machinery/ technology is absolutely amazing. The terminology & training, not so much. Basically, I watch and try to memorize everything. I've greased the machines, loaded some of the product, cleared some of the jams, and know how to disengage the safety alarms. :scared1:

So far, everyone is nice and says it takes awhile to learn everything.

Bullet dodged.
Didn't have the rifle sighted in properly yet.

Maybe. Where there is smoke, there's fire? Who knows.

Morning, Gents! Had a pretty good day yesterday except for when I found out that my old firm, the one I just got let go from, screwed me out of my insurance. I was told by the managing partner that my insurance premium would be paid and that I didn't have to worry about it. This meant that I was supposed to have insurance for either the month of September, or 30 days from the first day I was given insurance, which was August 27th. Either way, I'm supposed to be on insurance as of right now. Turns out, when my old boss was talking to me and telling me that my insurance premium would be paid and that I'd have nothing to worry about, it was in fact being cancelled. When I found out, I was t'd off to the max. So, I called the office looking for the office manager, she just happened to be on the phone. Uh huh. Sure. Ok, since you're not going to talk to me, I'll call my attorney, which I did. My attorney, by the way, also happens to be my DMiL, so it's easy to do. Now, I'm not expecting anything to happen, like get put back on the insurance, but I do want to know what happened. With my DMiL on the phone giving me advice, I wrote an email to the managing partner asking what happened and to explain. I Have yet to hear back, but safe to say that I lost any respect for that firm that I had left. It'd be nice if they offered to reimburse me for my out of pocket expense of having to pay for my annual physical, but I'm not expecting anything. Oh, forgot to mention that my attorney said that here in Mass, I believe it's only here in Mass, but I could be wrong, that the benefits manager is supposed to have a 30 day notice of change to any plan before taking effect. So, with that in mind, I believe they screwed up. And no, I didn't get it in writing, so I know I'm screwed. However, by me writing to them, I'm hoping to show that I'm not going to be a pushover. Don't worry, I wasn't nasty in my email, just stated facts and that I wanted to know what happened. I really hate that firm.

Sorry to hear it. Hope it works out.

So, I'm a little confused on the schedule. That 17 & 2, is that 17 days on and 2 days off? If that's the case, that's a long time between days off. And what's the 2,2,3? Not sure about that. Either way, glad you're working.

I typed that wrong - 19/2. Yes, they are working 19 straight days with 2 days off, which means OT and double pay OT after so many consecutive days. The 2,2,3 is designed to prevent that, and keep the line running. 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, etc for 12 hour shifts. Basically, you get every other weekend off. I wouldn't imagine they will pay OT to train me, but who knows. I'll stick with it a while, but not for long working that many days.

A friend of mine, who works for the bank I applied to, just moved out of her office for good. Apparently the bank decided that this working from home is a good thing. So she was allowed into her office to collect her things. She likes it but notes that it is difficult at times being in the house all day every day. Hope working from home works out for your DW.

She's been home since COVID, and said she was way more productive at home than the office. She said the biggest difficulty was not having a permanent place, and moving stuff around the house to different work areas.

It may have been the drunk talking, but you can probably guess where he wants the relationship to go.

Probably. I'm not worried about it. She's an adult and I've done the best I could do raising her. I might think they are too young, but that's there decision.

A good friend dated his girlfriend in high school, thru college, and got married after grad school. So, maybe 7 years? They divorced 2 years into their marriage. I worked with my wife for 2 months after she was hired. We dated for 9 months before I proposed, married 5 months after that, and it's been 20 years. Who knows what is the right way.

Well, that's convenient.
Not this Yank. I actually don't even own a gun...just never got around to getting one.
You put that in writing? Won't they kick you out of the country? Or force you to get a gun?

So cool, but... not so cool.
cleared some of the jams
mmm... jam...

Um.... what?
Yeah, so, I think the DDC trip just got nixed. Rats.
What happened? Too much coronavirus still?

Marathon got cancelled. It's turned to a virtual, which internationals don't qualify for so even if I ran a marathon round my town a few times, I wouldn't get the medal.
If you don't tell her about the marathon, nobody here will.
It went to the inbox, which is shared. Unfortunately.

Happy Wednesday. Most of the machines were running yesterday, so I was able to run them and learn quite a bit. I can't guess how much sauce I ran, but conservative estimate is in the 10 thousand jar range. Downside is the repetition. Perhaps the money will change my mind, but I don't see this as a long term career option.

Been a bit stopping in to say hey. Seems like all are well, except Eagles fans :-) Be safe.

 Mike.

That's DDCC to you. There are trademarks on the line. :rolleyes1

mmm... jam...

Um.... what?

It's supposed to work that way. A herd of jars are automatically loaded into the tray. A jam may be that a jar is turned sideways or upside down, then I have to stop the machine and manually fix the jar. The challenge is the longer the stop, then the more time/ money is lost vs not stopping & losing product to breakage based on orientation.

I can have my son make you one. We have plenty of cardboard lying around.

Well, there's your problem!

Ohhhh...

We did a virtual run (DD & myself) but haven't received our medals yet. I used a DISfriend's address in the US.

Whoops! Well, there's your first mistake!
She should let you come anyways
:lmao:

I can see the repetition being a bit of a grind.

Huh. Interesting. Hadn't thought of it that way.

You could come visit me and run my neighborhood. I'll even give you a morocycle escort.

Or use my address.

You forgot the "n" in morocycle

I think at the time we registered you were still moving?
Ugh...sometimes I hate my phone. Most times I just despise it, but sometimes I HATE it.
:lmao:

And you point? Even if I was moving, I still knew what the address was going to be. I also still own the other house so that address is still valid also.

Thanks man. Unfortunately as I joined through my DVC profile page to get the discount, they just refunded me, so I'm out the race as an international, as it seems to be beyond the wit of Disney to ship something over to me. Apart from my dues bill, that seems to turn up just fine. I haven't cancelled my flight yet, its just if the missus will cover the whole kids thing for me to go on a a jolly. I don't think your motorcycle goes that slow ;). If I build up enough good boy points between now and Jan, who knows. It was always a long shot to get to FL in Jan, but we'll see.

Good Morning! Awhile back I asked for recommendations for a new computer, I wanted to thank you all for your help, and to let you know what I got. Thanks to Mark’s input, I got a iPad Pro with a Logitech keyboard case. Absolutely love it! 😶💙. Thanks Mark for all your help.
