Dining reservations still needed to go to resorts?

We are hoping to eat at Polynesian quick service and watch fireworks from beach. Are you able to drive and park at properties just to visit now or are dining reservations still needed to visit at a resort? When we were there in April they wouldn't let us into Riviera without a reservation. Just curious if that is still the case.

You'll find they won't usually let you at hotels with easy transportation to the parks. Thankfully at Poly, you can park at TTC and just walk over. It's extremely close and a really pretty walk, especially at night with the torches lit.

In the past we would tell the front gate we were visiting to see Christmas decorations or go to Trader Sams and got in with no problem. It's just since covid that we couldn't get on site without a dining reservation. We visit the resorts on non-park days so I don't want to pay to park at TTC just to visit the resort.
