Hi I had to cancel my Aug.23-31 trip because our car died and we need to replace it. We are now talking about going in Feb. during the boys winter break the week of 20-27. Has anyone gone during that time?what are the crowds like? I was thinking of taking the boys out of school 2 days early, would that make a difference in the amount of people? Also I was going to get free dinning for Aug. trip are there any deals offered in Feb? Any help and advice would be great Thanks Sharon

We went Feb 2009. They have had the buy 4 get 3 free deal the past 2 years. Don't see why they wouldn't do that again or something similiar. We go early Feb so I don't know about crowds. you can check All ears. net or mousesavers.com, though

Hi Danielle thanks for the tips.Since I was planning an August trip I knew we would be in for really hot weather, what can I expect in february? My boys are 4 and 8 and love the pool can they go swiming at this time of year? Also since not going to need long breaks to get out of the blazing Aug. sun what is POP like we where going to stay CSR.On a side note I see that you have a miracle baby, my brothers little guy was born at 30wks and weighed exactly 3 pounds,he is now a very active walking one year old! God bless your family and little one.

Hello from another Long Islander.
I'm taking my girls the same week and doing the Princess half marathon on the 27th.
The disney pools are heated so I think my girls have gone swimming every disney trip.

I think we are getting Florida's heat and humidity on the island right now:beach: WE have not picked the exact dates for February but if we are there for the marathon we will be cheering you on:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Thinking CSR and regular dining plan any thoughts? Anyone

O.K I know are trip is still awhile from now but talking about it and planning about it makes me:jumping1:So I have been pouring over the dining reviews and love the food porn:scared1:Have come up with some must does for our family, Chef Mickey's,Coral Reef,Cape May(crab legs yum)Le Cellier,Ohana We need three more TS ideas planning on getting regular dining plan.:rockband:We want places that would be fun for the kids:dance3:

Have you thought about doing the Hoop De do review? It was a favorite of my girls when we went (they were 4 at the time). Another resturant they love is Sci Fi.

I was thinking whispering canyon because it only taken 1 TSC but I do think hoop de do sounds like fun is it worth 2TSC? THANKS FOR THE HELP! Also if you don"t mind what would be a good last day breakfast with characters option?By the way have you ever done a half marathon before?:yay:

I think HDDR is worth the 2ts credits. Food was better than I was expecting, show was corny but funny and enjoyable. I know we will be back. You can click on the dining review link that is in sig to see my full review of it (well DH's review), including picturs.

I love ending the trip with Chef Mickey's. It is not in a park, so depending on what time your flight is, you can go to which ever park your kids want to go back to.

This is my first half marathon. I'm hoping to do a local 10K in the fall.

Have you started to price the flights yet?

I loved your DH's reviews and pictures yourprincess:princess:are so :cutie::cutie: I love their curls!I am putting HDDR on our list only thing I'm concerned about is DS8 won't eat anything on the menu:worried:do you think I would be able to get him a hot dog or his favorite grilled cheese? As for as flights we where thinking southwest because Islip airport is right around the corner from us.Southwest is not booking for February yet, which airline have you used in the past?and if you don't mind what is the price I can expect to pay?: :thanks:

I love Islip airport. If you are a town of Islip resident, you can buy a parking permit to park for free. I think the cost of the permit is less than parking for a week. I'm not a town of Islip resident so not sure.

To answer your first part, we always fly southwest (except for when we used miles to fly on Delta). We usually get the tickets for around $200 a person. Lately it has been a little more. Our June trip I think was about $900 for the 4 of us. We have been know to split the tickets going down to get the last one or two tickets at a cheaper rate.
I also have not done the early bird check in unless we are on a cruise. I will let you know if i hear when Southwest is releasing the Febuary air. I also love that they still have 2 bags free. Jetblue has one bag and all of the other airplines charge for checked bags. Last trip we did check 4 bags going down and 5 coming home.

Sorry to hijack but we are going on our 1st trip in the beg of Feb 2011 too!
We are staying Poly I think 2/2-2/3 and then have to switch to offsite :(

I am trying to decide meals too..my boys will be 3 and 6 and one is a picky eater.

So glad to have you join in:) I have been on allears.net and read all of their kids menus, also I have been told that some of the restaurants will try to find something your child likes even if its not on the menu:thumbsup2 I am choosing a lot of buffets so I'm sure to find something he will eat.Does anyone know if you can get a regular PB&J or are they all the uncrustables? crazy I know but DS is that picky:snooty:

We are not Islip residents but are lucky to have lots of family close by that can drop us off and pick us up:)It's great about the free bags because I have no idea how much stuff to pack for February more shorts? or long pants? how is your training going in all this crazy heat we are getting?:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I know I have time before I have to make my ADR but need some advice... thinking Crystal Palace,Garden Grill ,Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, Ohana, Cape May, Sci Fi, HDDR.Planning to do only dinners, only need 7 what stays and what goes?Did I mention I have never been to any restaurants in Disney,so come on and tell me what you think:cool1: If no one answers don't worry I'm a mom , I'm use to talking to myself:hyper2:

I have been thread hopping and oh my do I love food porn:thumbsup2 I was on Disney's website and you can not book anything past Dec 31 when do you think they will make it possible to view package prices for Feb ?:confused3 just trying to get some idea for a budget:scared1: Thanks and have a great day :flower3:
