Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

I’m still so sad about this. We stay at the cabins every year and I’m worried we won’t be able to once they’re switched to DVC
From what I have read, there will still be cabins available for rent as there has been for years. The existing cabins are being replaced, so it won't be the same "old" cabins, but should still be available for non-DVC.

I guess I’m more worried about availability than anything

Disneyland Paris fansite accounts suspended on Twitter/X

Weird piece of news: several fansites for Disneyland Paris, like Pixiedust.be and Mousesteps, have been suspended on Twitter/X. No one seems to know why they are suspended, no reason was given. But it's several sites providing news about Disneyland Paris in English, German and Dutch.

TBC.

Also strange news from France, DLP has started listing various Disneyland Park trees as Attractions in the official app

DLP Report On Twitter
If it comes with some background information or how the square trees are made, or how they chose the trees for the Phantom Manor area, I do not mind.

When a few years ago, after the long long refurbishment of Phantom Manor they had a video of how they designed the nature in the area. Great information.

Ahsoka, The Muppets, 9 More New Disney PhotoPass Ops at Walt Disney World

It’s not often that I can chat new photo ops for Ahsoka, The Muppets, “Encanto,” the Haunted Mansion, and Tinker Bell all at once, but at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney PhotoPass Service just launched new experiences featuring those favorites and many more!
Between celebrating special events and dreaming up brand new experiences featuring the latest technology, the Disney PhotoPass team has been hard at work ensuring there are plenty of new and enhanced offerings for you to enjoy this fall and beyond. Check out some of my favorites below.

Disney PhotoPass photographers are joining the celebration by offering Magic Shots inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” and Disney/Pixar’s “Coco” at select locations.

Meeting Mirabel

One of your favorite members of the Familia Madrigal recently arrived at Magic Kingdom Park! As you meet Mirabel outside of Casa Madrigal, a Disney PhotoPass photographer will be there to capture all the smiles and hugs. It’s one of the many character greeting locations where Disney PhotoPass Service captures your encounter so you can stay in the moment.

At all four theme parks, photographers are offering new Halloween Magic Shots, including a seasonal twist on some of your year-round favorites, including Tinker Bell and balloons. And of course, there are many frightfully fun photos you can capture during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which you can check out here.

The Muppets Magic Shot

At the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, the Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey features the culinary creations (and mishaps) of Muppet Labs. It’s the home of the famous Pickle Milkshake – need I say more? Nearby, you’ll find a new Magic Shot featuring Bunsen and Beaker showing off a few of their… uh, interesting dishes. Bon appétit!

As some of the biggest Disney fans, join us in celebrating 100 years of magic with new Magic Shots at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park. These limited-time photo ops honor YOU and all the storytellers who have carried on the Disney legacy over the last century – and will inspire you to look ahead to an incredible future.

I always laugh when I see these pictures. They are great, don't get me wrong. But all the models are so fresh looking. I don't know about you, but after about an hour in the parks, I look like a hot mess.

I'd love to try to see this on our way out after Forever. Can anyone advise what times is plays? And can we watch from inside the park, or need to be on the entry plaza?
They play on a loop but I'm not sure if it plays after fireworks? IMO, best viewed in front near the entry (inside the park, between the fountain and the exit). The music is piped in, and the lights surrounding you will change. The music can't be heard around the park.

I'm not sure how long the loop is currently; I camp out there and watch them all until they loop back around. It's my very favorite nighttime show right now

Oh, so there are multiple shows playing more frequently than just the 100? Do they all have music? We stayed there for a little the other day, but nothing really seemed to be happening.

It’s mostly just varying light displays normally. The current Disney 100 show with music runs around every 15 minutes after sunset until EPCOT Forever, then again about 15 minutes after EPCOT Forever

The WGA reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. Today, our Negotiating Committee, WGAW Board, and WGAE Council all voted unanimously to recommend the agreement. The strike ends at 12:01 am.

Writers Guild West
There's still an actor's strike too, correct? I haven't been following too closely, but with the actor's strike still happening, will any shows/productions actually start working again or is it all still reliant on the actor's strike reaching an agreement too?

Actors strike is still ongoing. No actual production work will be happening until SAG-AFTRA also has a new contract in place. Writers can at least get back to developing things as that gets worked out.

Talk shows will be back soon. I'd imagine within a week.
