Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

FYI - I priced out my April trip with the general discount and the AP discount...AP discount is better. Unfortunately for us it's not going to work to stay on property in April since we may have 4 adults then 3 adults then 2 adults in the one week period...chatted with guest services and they said that would require three separate reservations. Not worth the hassle.
When you say 4, 3, then 2... are you just removing one person? Or will the room eventually see 9 different adults (past the max occupancy?)

If it's just removal and you are staying within the max occupancy overall throughout the trip I think the front desk in person would be able to make it work.

It's all the same 4 people. Both sons might join us at first but then our oldest doesn't have enough vacation time so he has to head home after a couple nights. Our youngest might stay through the weekend and we're staying a couple more days beyond. I thought they could probably make it work too but that's not what the "chat" person said. Maybe I'll ask again....

Sadly WDW chat is kinda useless. The resort front desk can definitely work that out for your. You can even add guests after arriving as long as they don't exceed the room occupancy. It's a way people can add guests for partial stays rather than paying the extra adult fee for the entire duration. If you don't want tickets attached to a package or a DDP it should be simple.

That's great to know. We don't need tickets or DDP so definitely something to consider. Perhaps I'll book for 2 and take it from there...

Pathway Behind Frontierland Train Station Now Open

1704380280209.png
The recently finished flagstone pathway in the outdoor queue section of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom is now accessible to guests. This fresh pathway guides visitors beneath the Frontierland train station. Construction barriers have been raised, closing off the previously open pathway located adjacent to the station’s stairs.

Currently, the only guest-accessible feature behind the train station is a restroom. The flagstone pathway is flanked by red bricks and adorned with wrought iron railings, reminiscent of the charm found in New Orleans streets. The wrought iron fences exhibit a regal color scheme, with shades of purple complemented by golden handrails and ornate golden orbs atop the tallest supports. Additionally, the smaller poles are crowned with bronze pinecone-shaped fence toppers.

Purple and gold, prominent hues in Mardi Gras festivities, play a significant role in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The storyline unfolds during Mardi Gras, with Tiana embarking on a mission to host a grand celebration! The construction walls share the same Tiana’s Foods signage and posters as those positioned in front of the attractions. According to the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure narrative, Tiana’s Foods operates within an aged salt mine. Adding to the ambiance, lanterns are hung at intervals along the construction walls. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open late 2024. Are you excited for the opening of this newly themed ride?!

EPCOT, Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket with Rainbow Popcorn

And the Figment love continues this year because not only is Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey: Art, Food, and Little Sparks of Magic back with its tasty bites, but there’s even a brand-new bucket. The adorable Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket with Rainbow Popcorn features everyone’s favorite imagination enthusiast and draws inspiration from Journey Into Imagination with Figment!
Alright gang, let's step up our game. Let's make the wait for the popcorn bucket a minimum of 8 hours instead of the 6 hours it was last time. Maybe if we all band together and buy the bucket, Disney will fix the ride!

Maybe the new DVC lounge will be in EPCOT in order to allow for the closure of the Imagination Pavilion for a new Figment ride! Just speculation I heard Tom Corless say, but nothing more than that. One can hope, though! Maybe this popcorn bucket is the final test, lol

I would 100% no questions asked sacrifice the DVC lounge in the Imagination building if it meant that a complete overhaul of the ride would happen.
