Disneyland Hotel Club Level Questions

Hey all,

Wondering what people’s thoughts are on the club level at the Disneyland Hotel. We are debating it and we can’t make up our minds. It seems nice but one of my worries is that what if we get put in another tower? It will really make us not want to go to the club at all.

Does anyone know on average what club level costs if you upgrade on checkin? I’m wondering if we can save a little money if we just upgrade when we show up.

Are there any other benefits other than the obvious turndown and Eticket lounge?

Thanks for any input.

I just got back from 6 days staying club level at DLH. I went with my 2 college aged daughters. I booked club level from the start, so can’t answer the upgrade question-sorry. We were on the 9th fl of Adventure Tower and the lounge is on the 11th fl of the same tower. I had requested a room close to the lounge when I booked the room. I called a week before check in to be sure my request was still on the radar. I was told that all club level rooms are in the Adventure Tower unless you book a suite. First, check in. As I was waiting in the line for regular check in, there was a CM coming through the line doing a “pre check in.” When she took my name and looked up to see I was club level, she pulled me out of that long line and called the club host. My family was taken up to the E Ticket lounge and checked in within minutes. I was offered a room that was ready on the 9th fl or I could have waited for a room on 10th or 11th fl. Since we had a long travel day, I opted to just get to my room. We were given a tour of the lounge and services. As a bit of pixie dust, at check in, I mentioned that we were headed to the park that night for F! and we’re going to try to ride Indiana Jones since it was going down for refurb the next day. As we were getting a tour of our room, the host handed me our room keys and shared that he had loaded a FP for Indy onto our tickets so we’d be sure to be able to ride Indy that night. It was a wonderful surprise!

We enjoyed the food and beverage options. Breakfast is 6:30-10:00 and consisted of Mickey waffles, deviled eggs, fruit/yogurt bar, cold cereal, etc. “Lunch” is 11-4 and is just snacks like pretzels, chips/salsa, veggies/dip, Uncrustables, etc.
Breakfast and lunch options do not change. Dinner is 5:00-7:00 and changes each evening. My kids and I loved the choices and ate there every night except two. Dessert is 8-10 pm and has soooo many options! Great way to watch the fireworks too! We went to the parks early most mornings, so missed breakfast. Instead, we took some fruit, granola bars, and Uncrustables the day before and kept them in our fridge, then ate those for breakfast. We also took snacks and drinks to the park with us so we had daytime snacks without spending park prices. In addition to food, there are many beverage choices. There is a fridge full of soda and juice that is available anytime the lounge is open. There are decanters of water and OJ at breakfast and then of water, lemonade, and iced tea the rest of the day. There are also many alcoholics options and these are available and included any time the lounge is open(no happy hour only choices). I saw mimosas in the morning made by the concierge staff.
Overall, I found that the extra cost of the room was worth it for the food and drink we received. We still had F! Dinner pkg, WoC dessert party, lunch at the parks at times, and Napa Rose chef counter reservations(as well as our share of churros and Dole Whips!), so not like we only ate lounge food. I just think that if you add up breakfast, lunch, snack/beverage, and dinner costs at the park, you’ll find the club level less expensive than eating in the parks for a week.

We have club level most stays. If you are someone who does the park open to close, it is not worth it. If you spend time at the hotel, it can be fun. It is about $200 per day. Will you save $200 a day on food? We don't but we also take into account just being able to relax, borrow a movie, have snacks, drinks, etc... We have been in the Frontier tower, but for us it wasn't a big deal. It is maybe 5 mins further.

We stayed Club Level at DLH for the 60th Anniversary. We upgraded at check in after booking a premium view room. I do not remember exactly, but I believe I paid $50-75 per night for the upgrade. It was wonderful. We loved all the treats and yummy foods and drink in the lounge. And we saved not having to buy water in the parks as we took several each day. It is not something we would do most trips, but for big celebrations. We do plan to do it again for the 75th anniversary, but thinking I may surprise my Mom for the 65th and book there instead of using my DVC points at VGC.

When I was there in January, we had a suite in the Fantasy tower. I asked at check-in how much it would be to add concierge and was told $225/day. The desk CM wasn't totally sure about that cost but I didn't ask her to check because I realized it didn't make sense in our situation. I chose not to do it because there were just 2 adults and a baby so it wasn't worth it. In this case, I mean worth as in would you feel content about spending that amount for what you got from it? I value the convenience, experience, perks, and pleasure as well as the food/beverage offerings, so I'm one who enjoys getting concierge when the situation makes it worthwhile.

sadly, the club no longer offers water bottles for guests, when i asked, they said something along the lines of "better for the environment"

They stopped offering the water a few years ago. They do place 2 large (32 ounce) bottles in your room for the stay. But we would see people taking upwards of 16 bottles of water at a time. That is a lot of small plastic bottles. The club level generally runs $200 a night now. The PPH can be as low as $75 a night.

We enjoy the club level. When my DIL was studying for the bar 10 years ago, she spent most of our trip in the E-Ticket club studying. She thought what better place than where she had constant snacks, liquid, wine, fruit, while she studied (and we played in the park.) She'd join us in the evening.
