We are considering staying at CBR in December. Does anyone know where the preferred rooms are located?
Martinique and BarbadosWe are considering staying at CBR in December. Does anyone know where the preferred rooms are located?
As @jennab said, Preferred rooms are in Martinique and Barbados. Just wanted to point out that the standard rooms in Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are actually closer to the Main Feature pool and food court than some of the Preferred rooms. And those locations are much closer to the Skyliner than any Preferred room. Also, if you book a King room you could be in any building except the ones in Trinidad, there is no King Preferred room type.We are considering staying at CBR in December. We always plan a midday break for summer trips, its just too darn hot by 11am. And no one in my family will happily make it to fireworks if we don't take a break. When we arrive in a week or two, it seems it is going to be hot, as in straight up heat stroke hot!
On our MK day, since it is so much farther from CBR, and I felt like we would waste so much time transporting, I was not planning to do a mid-day break. Instead, I was planning to take monorail over to Poly (my favorite resort), have a leisurely lunch, shop, relax, maybe have a Pineapple Lanai / Tiki Terrace break. Then monorail back to finish our MK night.
Park will be open until 10 pm. We also plan to *try* to rope drop or get in early enough to beat some of the heat.
On all of our other park days, I am planning a mid day break.
However, I am now wondering if I should plan a break for MK too.
I'm not opposed to taking a Lyft. It's hard to tell the prices but right now looking like $15 or so.
What should I do??? Has anyone done a mid day break from MK and how much time do you use up?
Note, we've been in 2022 and 2023 so I don't have the pressure to do and see every single thing. There are so many things that I love in MK though, I just want to make good use of our time.
Always do midday breaks when it’s hot. You can do a Minnie van right from MK for $$ or walk to BLT and grab a Lyft/uber there for $. Another option is to monorail to TTC and grab Lyft/uber.When we arrive in a week or two, it seems it is going to be hot, as in straight up heat stroke hot!

Yes, this works great. We take bus to MK for rope drop, break for lunch at the Grand Floridian and then Lyft back. Sometimes we walk to the Poly after lunch. In room from about 1:30-4:30, and then ready to close MK! (We take the bus back.) $15 sounds about right. Thanks for the reminder that Lyft picks up at TTC.
Maybe we will monorail to Poly as originally planned, and then Lyft back to our resort for a break after.
Thank you so much!We stayed at CBR last summer in the Aruba section. This is our favourite moderate resort mainly because of the skyliner and easy access to boardwalk and two parks. Aruba section is super convienient to use the riviera skyliner, buses and dining options. Topolinos breakfast is a must do for us!
The main pool and splash pad were great and the food court was clean, spacious and has everything you need. We enjoyed watching the Epcot fireworks from the pool area or with a drink at banana cabana.
Rooms were basic but clean with enough space for our 5. I believe the rooms have been refurbished since we stayed.
Thank youI would actually stay in Jamaica, closer to that skyliner station. When the skyliner gets to the Aruba/Riviera station, especially at peak hours, you often will have a wait to get in a car because they area already full coming from the Jamaica station. I've stayed in Jamaica and Trinidad (new Little Mermaid room) and both were great and a similar walk to OPR, Jamaica is the closest to the skyliner on that end of the resort.
The rooms are the same size. However, the corner rooms feel bigger because they have 2 windows. Be careful with the Touring Plans room finder tool, it's pretty inaccurate. We have had great success with making our requests spell out what we want instead of looking for room numbers. Our go to is Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor please. We have had our requests met 9 out of the last 11 trips. We are staying at CBR this August, and have a water/pool view 5th sleeper booked (along with free dining). Looking at room options on Touring Plans to do our room request, and I'm wondering if there is any size difference in any of the rooms or if they are pretty standard (difference villages, corner rooms vs. central ones, etc).

Banana Cabana and Bar Riva are both open air. I love them both, but probably prefer the food at Bar Riva. They are both cooled with fans. Banana Cabana has more fun drinks (IMO) but I prefer the food at Bar Riva. Not helpful, I know. Primo Piatto is right inside from Bar Riva and is much quieter than the court at Pop; Centertown Market can be loud and busy or a little more laid back, or if you want it even quieter just go to Spyglass Grill over in Trinidad.
Banana Cabana has a tropical vibe, with pool noise in background. A good option, but the quick serve or lounge at Riviera would be my vote. If the lounge (bar) isn’t open, you can sit there with your food from the quick serve restaurant. It has beautiful mosaic tiles, is tucked away, and is less Disney, more calm. You could take the Skyliner from Jamaica if it is too hot to walk.Thank you, this is actually helpful. I may just keep the options open and see what the right fit is for that day. It is the beginning of my husband's trip so our legs will be fresh; we may not mind the walk to Spyglass or Riviera. If it's roasting hot (who am I kidding, next week is going to be nuclear), we may defer to anyplace for inside AC, even if it is a bit louder like Centertown!
