Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

The only available rooms for CL are lagoon view.
I haven't stayed at Poly since (are you ready???) 1972. Truth to tell, room view probably does not matter, as we plan on watching fw from the beach. Are lagoon view far from the King Kamehameha Club?
Has anyone stayed during this time? I seem to remember @trishadono or mayi @GADisneyDad14
maybe posting about their experience, but couldn't find anything. Do they absolutely have a reserved section for CL?
Thanks for any info at all about this!

I haven't been over NYE, but I was just there in Oct and had room 3518. At first I thought we had been upgraded to TPV because we had a direct view of the castle, but looking at trish's room diagram, it was LV (which we did book). As you can see from the diagram, it was the last room at the end of the hall. It was a little trek to the lounge, but I didn't mind as the view from the room made up for it. It was also a very quiet area. Even though there is a door right outside our room going outside, we never heard any noise.

Hello Disers...
I absolutely was NOT going back to WDW for FOUR years, ABSOLUTELY...
Well, here's the real deal. We are looking at just a taste of Poly CL for New Year's Eve. Fly in on the 30th, out late on the first... The whole reason (there's got to be a reason, right???), is that we would be able to sit in the reserved section to watch the fireworks from Poly beach, go to brunch at Cali Grill on New Year's day, and fly home that evening.

Can’t remember if these posts have anything noteworthy in them, but FYI, my mini trip reports from the time:

Poly CL - NYE 2017

Poly CL - NYE 2018

It is definitely a busy time around Poly - and I don’t have personal experience at any other resort around that time - but in my opinion it’s hard to beat the overall locational advantages on that day. Tons of fun (in my opinion).

Hope that helps!

Here is the current state of Auinala (afternoon refreshments), served 12-4pm. These are more or less the same each day, with exceptions noted below.

Lettuce wraps....

Grilled Chicken or Shrimp (alternates each day)
Carrots
Sweet Chili Sauce
Sweet & Sour Sauce with Hot Mustard
Peanut Sauce

Here's another afternoon with the shrimp.

Dried Papaya

On another day they had Coconut shavings instead of Cranberries.

Sadly, I am back from what may have been one of my best WDW stays. I have to say CL at Beach Club and Grand Floridian (SL) were both great in their own ways. There were definitely some pros and cons at each resort, but it would be hard for me to pick an overall favorite.

I would have to give the staff at BC the best score and the food at GF SL a slight edge. BC’s staff was just so pleasant and engaging. I looked forward to talking to them during my lounge time and felt they did a great job circulating and clearing items/tables. GF’s staff was a little more meek and I felt there were less people circulating. I also felt that items were cleared much slower at GF and empty tables sat with dirty plates for an extended period of time.

BC seemed to have larger hot “dinner” items than small plate items for the evening appetizer time, but there was only 1 adult item and 1 child item. GF seemed to have a much larger variety of hot food, but there were truly more hors d’oeuvres. GF had fresh mickey waffles 2 out of the 4 mornings which were great in addition to more light snack choices, desserts with every course, and a larger alcohol and soft drink selection (Angry Orchard, caffeine free diet soda, Coke Zero, etc).

BC’s lounge was removed from the guest rooms and had the concierge sitting in front of the entrance by the elevators. You could go pay a bill or ask a question and it was very peaceful. GF’s lounge was a little crazy. There was a podium right when you walked in, or a desk tucked away in the back left near the child’s television. The GF’s lounge was almost always chaotic and loud and harder to cut through since I was in a room on the first floor to the right behind the big double doors.

BC’s check-in was great. There was no one standing in the front of the resort when we arrived via DME, but as I got in line for the front desk, I got the text the room was ready and the front desk called upstairs and escorted us up in the elevator. While there, we were provided with a custom welcome letter, all the times guides, champagne, and chatted about some of the new lands and Disney movies coming out.

GF’s check-in was nonexistent. We transferred at 9:30am via Minnie Van and stowed our bags with bell services and proceeded to enter the main building. I saw someone with an iPad outside and explained that we were checking into the resort. He pointed to the back left and said all the restaurants were back there. I just continued in and figured I would find someone else inside. As we were walking in, the same CM came running back and realized what I meant, tapped my band, and then walked us to SL. The podium and desk were both occupied so we were dropped at a table and had some light breakfast (since we had just eaten at BC). I went to the desk once it was free and explained that we were checking in and the CM checked and said ok, you will get a text when your room is ready. No welcome letter, times guides, welcome to GF, etc. We’ve stayed at GF multiple times and knew our way around, but it was just a huge difference compared to my lovely BC check-in.

BC housekeeping was done promptly at 10 am daily. One time we were still in the room waiting to head out and the CM said he would come back. GF times staggered daily, but we had a great housekeeper who left cute touches in the room daily. Turndown at BC included individual dove chocolates whereas GF had Ghirardelli chocolates. We also received a print out of our plans each night at both resorts. Only BC showed our dining reservations and my specific My Disney Experience avatar. Not sure what happened at GF, but plans were missing in addition to my avatar.

I am so grateful for all of the information shared here. It really helped my family and I make the most of the lounge. We were in the know about asking for things we did not see out and hoarded some items from earlier meals for later enjoyment. We even had some hacks for combining items. My favorite was taking some of the caramel from BC hors d’oeuvres (apple slices and caramel) and combining it with an Edy's ice cream and some of the Mars candy that was out 24/7 for my own little sundae after coming back from the parks.

The CL upgrades also saved us about $600 in food. We enjoyed it so much that we cancelled some more meals and moved some plans around on the go to accommodate lounge time.

I kinda failed at taking pictures besides the first day. I think I was just so exited at BC and SL was always packed. If anyone has any questions about BC or GF SL, I can gladly answer them while I look to see whats available for CL discounts in October and December!

Thanks for your review! Good to hear that the BC CL staff was pleasant and engaging. We're trying BC CL for the first time in August and I'm hoping it'll be just as nice as other CLs we've tried. Glad you had a great trip and enjoyed both resorts :goodvibes.

I agree about the SL lounge. I've only stayed SL once, but found the lounge always chaotic with little to no privacy to talk to a desk CM :sad2:.

I hope you get some great CMs and have the same wonderful BC experience!

I think I will have to try RPC for a true GF CL comparison. lol I was sitting in the SL lounge on check-out day imagining how Disney could lose 6 guest rooms on the first floor (the two to the left when you walk in and the four on the back wall right off the lounge) and it could open the whole place up and add some privacy. Who would even want to stay in those rooms? I imagine they would be so loud!

Another thing I forgot... I've never done a runDisney event, but I remember @GADisneyDad14 mentioning CL accommodations for earlier racers. GF SL had additional mini Dasani water bottles, oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip nature valley bars, and bananas late at night for the Rival Run racers.

Cool!

WL CL had wrapped bagels, peanut butter, muffins, and water all three mornings. SO helpful! Totally saved me money and time not having to worry about it.

The only thing I was missing was coffee!

Thanks for your trip report, love the detail. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Thanks! Never really had BC CL on my list to try, but I'm taking my niece back before school starts and that's where she wants to stay, so I figured might as well give CL a try :goodvibes.

Definitely try RPC if you can! Other than the food offerings, it is a totally different experience (IMO) from SL. I agree, would be nice if they could open up the SL lounge a little bit ;).

Ooh I would have liked that too.

At wl I kept mixing the caramel corn with the pecans .

Dd fav cl things: pineapple with caramel at poly, scones at gf and mixing pog with sparking akl/poly/gf cl’s:flower1:

Sounds like a great trip for y’all. Can’t wait to,see what ya pick next!

@mickeynut1 THANK YOU, I saved that room number in my notes!
@trishadono , THANK YOU for your maps and photos!
@GADisneyDad14 I read both your reports for NYE and they were very informative!
Now that all y'all have chimed in, I need to decide if we want to stay there or at CR CL. (Our favorite!). Looking at strictly the food and drink offerings, CR wins my vote. But that lovely seating area for the fireworks at Poly is a HUGE draw!!!
Has anyone stayed at CR CL over NYE would be my next question...
I knew if I asked here I worked get the most utd correct info. You guys never disappoint!
Thank you

Happy you had a great trip! Are you now on the CL bandwagon from now on?! So addictive, isn’t it?!

I don't think you will regret it at all! Hope you guys have a fantastic time!!

Me either. They did some updates last year but I stayed in just prior so missed that.

Did it get COLD? Could you override?

I need to know lol.
I will mention we had very nice weather when we went. Check-out day was going to be 87, but every other day was high 70s low 80s. I played around with it and I think "mode" was disabled because when I pressed the bottom button, the thermostat said "off." We did not want that! The fan had 3 speeds. When I pressed it to the highest setting, the room was comfortable enough for us. It seemed the fan speed reset/went to auto when we left the room so I would have to press the speed again when we returned. It never went below 68. If it were a summer trip/warmer spring temps, I would have had to call maintenance to help me get it cooler. I did a quick Google search and couldn't find anything about this model. I had the BC at 66 some days with the other thermostat.

Ooh I would have liked that too.

Those all sound wonderful! BC had POG two out of the four mornings and I totally did that and thought of you guys here. Other guests seemed confused at why my glass was a different color, but oh well! When we checked in at BC they also put something in our sparkling that was strawberry. Not sure what it was, but it tasted yummy :drinking1

Sounds like a great trip for y’all. Can’t wait to,see what ya pick next!

Happy you had a great trip! Are you now on the CL bandwagon from now on?! So addictive, isn’t it?!
Definitely! The convenience was unmatched. To walk steps out of my room and have any beverage waiting for me was great. We also did not purchase one breakfast and it was great being able to run to the lounge for something fast. If people were done getting ready at different times, one could go and grab something or come back to the room. It just made things simpler and easier which is always nice on vacation. Now that I have experienced it and plan on booking it in advance, I can work our schedules around the offerings even better!

We love split stays for access to Epcot/HS and MK. I know BWI has some huge followers here, but it would be hard for me to leave BC/YC. I love GF, but I think I need to try RPC next just to compare it to SL. With the "enhancements" to the second floor of the lobby, the experience may be a little different so I will have to see the whole impact. Another place on my list is Poly. I absolutely love the resort. I venture off to other MKs just because I would like the rooms to be updated a tiny bit more, but I am thinking Poly CL in December will be my MK resort. GF is breathtaking at this time, but last December was just so crowded that I think I need a little break and I will just be yet another visitor to the resort. I think I will sneak down the walking path from Poly at less crowded times to take in the tree and gingerbread. The wheels are already turning! I have some bouncebacks already booked from a previous trip, but I have to check CL availability.

@PolyRob glad to hear you had a pleasant experience, BC and YC have been favorites of ours for some time now, we have “ventured” out to experience everything else but those are still amongst our favs, GF both RPC and SL are great also (I have a bad habit in over indulging on the pecan rolls) I will say IMO totally different experience between RPC and SL!!!
I can see why they are a favorite! The location and people were so nice!

My extra light breakfast at GF after transferring from BC consisted of a pecan roll so I understand! I had one every day. So smart they keep them under those lights so they are ooey gooey and delicious! Sounds like RPC is definitely a must.
