Sorry about that last post, my mobile version of the DIS is acting up, didn't mean to post that...

Well after 9 nights at CSR we have now moved over to the dark side of RPR at Universal. Thought I would share some observations from CSR...we were in standard view room 9180 on Cabanas 9B. I already posted that I was initially disappointed as I don't like first floor in hotels in general, however, I wouls say the location was great for us. We used Bus Stop 4, the area was quiet and a short enough walk to El Centro.

With regards to buses, they were never that busy. Only maybe 2 or 3 times when returning from a park at close did we have to stand, majority of time we easily got a seat. Longest we waited for a bus was probably 15 minutes. The location of CSR was great in relation to time to get to the parks, every park felt only a few minutes away. Only place that felt like a long journey was Disney Springs in comparison.

The resort was really busy with Invictus Games guest but it didn't bother or affect us in any way. Choice at the food court was decent enough. We never really made it to the main pool (checked it out once) as we had a quiet pool beside us that we used instead.

I also posted previously that the rooms were fine but the bathroom definitely felt dated. We also found mousekeeping a bit hit and miss as to when our room would be done. On our first day the room wasn't ready until nearly 5pm. We're the type of people who usually go to the park in the morning, back to resort in afternoon to chill out before heading back out again later but felt we couldn't really do this here as we were never sure when the room was ready. On one morning the housekeeper was outside as we were leaving around 8.30am but other days we'd come back around 3pm and the room still wasn't ready.

Overall we really liked CSR and wpuld stay again :)

So if I'm looking at the map, it looks like about the same distance from the main building to both Casitas 4 & 5 and Cabanas 8A & 8B (and about the same to the pool)... but I've not been there. For those who have, is it about the same distance?

It seems that most recommend requesting the Cabanas, but if they're about the same distance, is there any reason why Cabanas is a better choice than Casitas?

Casitas 4 is a touch closer to the food court than 8a and 8b. 8a is right beside the main pool and 8b isn't much farther. I personally love Casitas 4 as I use the fitness Center and it has a huge quiet pool with tons of seating. One trip we stayed there for 14 days and never went to the main pool as the Casitas 4 pool was almost as good and right outside our room.

Was reading the list of items included in the Rooms and did not see "Blow Dryer" listed.
Are there Blow Dryers near the sink area? or should I bring mine from home?

Depending on the time of year it's around $80 per night.

Look for sales and ask -- we just got standard view business class for $206 per night (average price over 7 nights). I figure with all the food my boys can eat and breakfast, that is a bargain.

Hi there, can you tell me about connecting rooms at CSR? We are 7 people going in July and booked 2 rooms, both with 2 queen beds each. But since our young adult kids will be in the second room, we would like there to be a door between them that opens. I have a subscription to touringplans.com and am going to use that to fax in my room request, but the touringplans.com website doesn't specify which rooms are connected. Also,we would prefer rooms nearest to the parking lot and food areas. Can you help recommend rooms to request?

If you have even a single YA child under 18, Disney will go out of its way to help make sure you have connecting rooms.

Got back yesterday afternoon from a stay in a Standard View Business Class room. Was my second time at CSR and first time in Business Class. I enjoyed my first stay at CSR but it has never been one of my favorite resorts. I only chose it this time because I got a great AP rate on Business Class.

Well, this stay was excellent. Every cast member we encountered was delightful. I was actually booked with a split stay of 3 nights in Standard BC and two nights in a King Bed business class because I could not get all 5 nights in the Standard. The resort called me on the morning of my arrival and asked if we'd like to stay put in our first room for the entire stay. We did and it was perfect. They adjusted my rate appropriately as well so we didn't have to move AND saved about $40-$50 on the room rate.

We really enjoyed the convenience of the business class.

Breakfast every morning had some of the nicest fruit I've had at WDW (pineapple, strawberries, blueberries/blackberries/raspberries and a variety of melons were available every morning). Cereal options were Rice Chex, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Special K, Rice Krispies and sometimes Fruit Loops. Our breakfast pastries were different every day. Bagels were always available but one day we had danish as the pastry (apple, lemon and cheese). Several days we had different types of muffins. One day we had cinnamon rolls. And one day we had muffins and some sort of strudel. The CMs in the lounge were all fantastic and friendly.

We did the evening snacks three times. Between 5:00 and 7:00 pm they had two types of cheese (one soft, one hard), marinated artichokes, grilled zucchini, olives and usually two types of meats - salami and soppresata. One night the salami was thin slices, the other nights it was in long, skinny rectangles. They also had tortilla chips, regular chips and what I think were some sort of plantain chips? I never tried those. They had salsa and usually two types of dip or hummus as well. They do replenish these snacks during the 5-7 time but when it gets close to 7:00 they stop replenishing. So if you arrive at 6:45, you sort of get what is left. At 7:00, the meats/cheeses, etc go away and they bring out cookies. We usually had three to four types. The chips stay out until 10:00 pm. The snacks were great to tide us over before some later dinner ADRS but were not something you could replace a meal with. We've stayed CL at BC and YC before and have used their evening snacks as a sort of light dinner on days we would have a late sit down lunch but the snacks at CSR were not as hearty as the CL (or at least what the CL was like when we stayed there).

The sangria is not out with the other wine offerings, you have to ask for it. You also have to ask for disposable cups for coffee and tea if you want them. We did occasionally bring things back to our room (usually chips or cookies at the end of the day) and our housekeeper always took care of clearing any dishes we had from the room.

We had a great stay at Coronado and I would definitely stay again with a discount in Business Class.

Thanks for all the details! Sounds great! We are there in 8 days and celebrating my fight against cancer (I'm winning!).

We will be there in about a month, and have breakfast reservations at MK at 9:15. Do you think that if we catch the earliest bus, we will make it in time? Debating on whether we should just drive or take the bus. Thanks!!

If you ever have a super early breakfast at the MK, tell the concierge at CSR front desk. If the bus won't get you there on time, he'll send you off in a complimentary van -- but give him as much notice as you can.

The Cabanas are more low key in terms of décor -- 2 stories, beach bum casual, and the casitas are more elegant -- 3-4 stories, lovely fountains and gardens, close to the fitness center. Both have quiet pools nearby and both are close to both the front desk and the main pool. There are ~360 cabana rooms and over 1000 casitas rooms, so some folks think of the cabanas as more special. Most conventioneers request casitas. If having a view of the lake from an upper story room is important to you, you might prefer the casitas (more upper story rooms!).

Thanks for this! I have a Keys to the Kingdom tour scheduled for 8:30am, and they say to be there 15 minutes early.. so I was worried about how I would get their early enough! I'll be sure to talk to someone when I check in.

The buses start around 6:30 a.m. They don't run quite as often that early, but if you are at the bus stop by 7:00, you should be fine. Don't ask the front desk about the bus times, they don't always give the right answers.

That's awesome!!! I'll give them a call this weekend!!

Does anyone know what time the buses start in the morning?? We have a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's for 7:15am and I am just trying to figure out how we are going to get there??

Looking for Feedback on the Vegetarian Options at Pepper Market. There are I think only 3 options: Pizza, Veggie Wrap and Veggie Burger. Not sure which is the best. Choices are so limited.

6:30ish.

For a very early CM, you may be better off with an Uber. The early buses are aimed at the 8:00AM PPO in-park dining experiences.
